Hey all, I am new here and wanted to know if anyone thinks UK will be solid in baseball in 2008.

As a Gamecock fan this is about the only time of the year that I can get used to success from my team.

Any diehard college baseball fans on here?

We should be much better this year with some very good players returning. Good luck with your season 'cept when you play us. :tongue3:

Chaz, thanks for the reply.

USC should be good once again this year, but we already have 2 pitchers (one that was an incoming recruit and one great one that started last year and quickly fell to injury) that are out for the season.

So in typical Gamecock fashion it will require us to be a powerhitting and high scoring type of team because we will likely get lit up in some games. The good thing is, we have been said to have the most powerful hitting infield in the entire country, so I doubt scoring will be much of a problem.

Where in the East do you honestly see UK finishing? I know some expect Vandy to be strong inspite of losing their 2 best pitchers, but outside of Vandy and USC, the East should be wide open.

Welcome aboard Tay.

I'd use my standard line about us being a 'football school', but you guys beat us so I'd better keep quiet.

:p

After our crash and burn to end last year's football season, I am starting to wonder what kind of school we are.

I am thinking that we need to just stick with baseball....

I wouldn't exactly say that I'm a diehard fan just yet for college baseball. I did decide to buy season tickets this year and plan to go to as many games as possible. I have redeveloped a love for baseball over the past several years (mainly due to my little brother now beng a 4 year starter at his high school for his senior year and going to as many of his games as I could).

Welcome aboard!
