So... We have another ice storm around here.... no schools in session, several factories letting their production lines close, state buildings closed at 12:00 (that means my wife is now nice and warm and safe at home) and the bank where I work.... we are not showing any signs of shutting down. Sigh.
So, I went to lunch and just slid across the street to BW3s for some tasty boneless wings. The parking lot was covered with a sheet of ice and it was actually raining (and freezing) when we went in. When we came out it was sleeting a bit and I had to rescrape my car because the rain was turning to ice as soon as it hit anything. Walking back into the bank I decided it would be a good idea to see if I could do a standing back flip. Actually I did not really "decide" to do that as much as the attempt was forced upon me by the patches of ice that the de-icing crew missed on the parking lot.
Just so the Wildcat Nation knows, I cannot, in fact, do a standing back flip when launching from a walking start on a sheet of ice. I DID make it about a quarter of the way around and landed flat on my back. Somehow I managed not to drop or spill the Mr Pibb I was carrying in the handy styrofoam cup that BW3 had given me to keep my drink cold. So now here I sit - at work with a cold and wet backside. At least I still have my ice cold Mr Pibb to drink.
