Some of the regular Catlanta attendee's are having to stay home this year. So, who would be interested in having our own meeting here? My schedule is pretty full, but when we find out when the games are, it would be fun to get together.

is the best idea I've heard in a while.
The problem is getting everyone to agree on a central location. For something like that, though, it would have to be at a pretty good sized place and not a local watering hole.
If we can work it out, you can count me in!
As long as its a set date and time, I can be there. Preferably in Louisville, not too far out.

Steve,
I am really going to miss you coming up to me after games and saying, "Did you know you can see the 'BLUEBLOOD' on the WCN shirts from 50-75 rows higher up?" :icon_mrgreen:

Jeanie and I will certainly miss you and all of the good L people (Wildcat fans) who don't make it to Catlanta, Steve. I expect good things there, but will gratefully accept any results that coach Gillispie and this renegade band of Kentucky Wildcats give us.

I'm just reading your thread, lighthouse, and mostly wishing I could be in Catlanta, :icon_sad: but even in Louisville, as a second choice! I don't like not seeing my WCN friends!
You WCN folks who do get to go to Atlanta, please cheer extra loudly for me, AND have fun! GO CATS! BEAT OLE MISS!

I could have a location if the date and times fall into alignment. I gig in a local bar here in Louisville and could set something up there. The owners are Card fans, but they owe me.. LOL

Betcha they would take Wildcat fans money, though. :icon_mrgreen:;)

Oh yes. They would accommodate no problem...
Two big screens and a wall of TVs at the bar.
Its a neighborhood type bar.

It would have to be a pretty good sized place. If we can get this going we could have quite a crowd. Is this place just a plain ol' bar or is it a restaurant/bar, 'cause you KNOW we've gotta have food available. :icon_mrgreen:

They serve some food. Hard to beat the Krazy Dave Burger. Also, they wouldn't mind if we set up our own food.
I would say it can hold 100-150 Its pretty good size. I can find out what their capacity is if people are really interested..
I can probably get a break on drinks too.

There is also a hotel about a mile away on the same side road as the bar..
No main roads between the bar and lodging.. ;)

I spoke with the owners last night and they would be more than glad to accommodate. The quote: I'd wear a UK shirt and we'll paint ole Billy over there blue".
They can cater with game type food (wings, etc). They have a full kitchen. It could be an open spread.
Of course this is just one option. If anyone has others that are more attractive, I would be all for that as well.
You wouldn't have to be 21 would you? I'd be more than happy to attend if no age is required. BTW, I don't drink so theres no way I'd try and slip a drink or two.

Minors are allowed until 10 pm.
The games are during the day aren't they? If so I'll be happy to show up and meet a few people!

IT IS SO. I rarely do these things out of town. I can still help set things up if that is the best option. I thought the SEC tourney was the weekend before. I feel so badly!
Ah, oh well.
Apparently work thinks that I'm going out of town that weekend to see family. What they don't know is that I will be at home all 4 days watching the CATS play!
