Assuming this is indeed a true story...this is the kind of man we have as coach....

Not saying that Coach isn't a good man, but anyone can donate/give money especially when they are as blessed as CoachG. Doesn't necessarily make that person good.

Well, not only that....
But he showed up at the Dance Blue marathon this weekend after the Arkansas game and donated $10,000 to their cause which was fighting and finding a cure for Cancer.

For those who had already read the other piece, I happen to think Byron Crawford does an even better job with the story here. Then again, Crawford once included a story about my beloved mom and dad in a column of his, so I COULD be a bit biased. :icon_mrgreen:
Also, Coach Gillispie has a "down-to-earth" and compassionate side that does indeed need to be seen and appreciated by us fans, especially after Tipton's having inappropriately shared Dusty's version of his dismissal from the UK basketball team. I LOVED the story, especially Crawford's coverage of it. Mr. Poodoo did, too, not only because he liked Gillispie's tender heart, but also that he similarly loves listening to those "trading" shows--for a good, old, down-home feeling and some smiles and laughs. GO CATS! GO COACH G!

It shows they have a generous spirit, and are kind-hearted. That qualifies as a good guy in my book.

Maybe it's because he is a good man and he realizes that he is blessed and makes more than the average person that when he sees a need and is able to help, he wants to give to others. Keep in mind Coach G HIMSELF initiated all of that. He could just as easily have ignored the whole thing and never called and no one would have ever known he was aware of what's going on.
Now, if he was running around bragging about it to everyone and everybody at every opportunity, you might be able to question his sincerity, but he wanted to keep things quiet and wasn't doing it for publicity.

No doubt about that. However it is readily apparent that he is one tough coach to play for. He won't accept anything less than 100% and will make sure every ounce of talent you have is left on the court. My feelings are he is the players Coach not their friend when they are playing for him.

The whole Dusty Mills thing is not important enough to be considered with this and I agree coach is a good man and the Dusty Mills thing is irrelevant
