Which outcome would benefit the CATS (RPI) the most. UT or Memphis and why?

UT winning. RPI factors in win percentage and opponents' win percentage. We've played UT and not Memphis, so a win (making UT's % go up) is better than a Memphis win (UT's % goes down).

Tennesse would help us if they win.

Thanks. I guess I will be pulling for the Vols today. :tongue3:
What is our RPI going into action today?

It's sitting at #71 right now according to www.collegerpi.com.

I'm debating who I want to lose least. I hate UT, for personal and aesthetic reasons. But I also pseudo hate Memphis for choosing to stay in a mid major conference and coasting to a #1 ranking every year after all their competition left for the Big Least.
So the two reasons I have chosen to (not root for) but be reasonably happy if UT pulls out a victory:
1) It will benefit our RPI
and
2) I will stand to win over 1.5 billion facebook sportsbet chips

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think you've got to hope UT wins if you're a Kentucky fan. A Vols win tonight and a UK win this afternoon will probably push our RPI up into the 50s.
Still, it really doesn't matter. As long as we win things will take care of themselves. I don't think the RPI is as big of a deal to the committee as many believe.
All that said, I think Memphis wins by 8 or 9. Tough, tough team -- I don't care what their schedule looks like.

Add in the fact that we COULD be playing the number one team in the country next weekend, and I think we have a reason to be closet UT fans tonight.

It's dangerous for me to root for teams that UK is about to play. We always seem to lose when I do that, so I try to stay extremely neutral. Karma may forgive me if I have (fake) money riding on the outcome, though.....

I know exactly what you are saying. I have Vanderbilt season tickets (just for the UK game), and I am going to the UT game on Tuesday. I can't bear to root for either team, but I will be rooting a bit harder for one to lose.

Tennesse beats Memphis to help our cause and RpI.Then the NCAA comes down on PEARL like Sampson.Pearl gets fired, half the players quit, and we stomp TENNESSE at Tennesse on our way to finishing off every remaining opponent that we have left.We then either win the SEC tournament or win 2 games and make it to the big show.
From that point,it's a new season and all we will need is 6 games to win it all.We win the NCAA and praise BCG and forget about SD,GW, AND VANDY.
My alarm is going off, it's time for UK AND ARKANSAS.
