**** THIS IS NOT BAIT, JUST A QUESTION I WANT TO ASK SO PLEASE DON'T ANYONE TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY.. I KNOW THERE ARE A FEW WHO WILL BECAUSE I POSTED IT AND WILL BASH MY OPINION BEACUSE IT COULD DEAL WITH A FORMER COACH AND TEAM (IM JUST ASKING YOUR OPINION ON THE TOPIC ONLY) ******
IF UK does not make the dance.. (IF) I hope they win the SEC tourney and keep the dream alive. I am in Big 10 (11) country and I get the Big 10 Network it looks like Minnesota will be playing in the NIT if they win today or beat IU Thursday.
Dare I say like I did about a month ago.. Minnesota and UK Round 1 NIT..
Your thoughts only.. Don't bash me, Don't bash Tubby.. I think what a GREAT OPENER TO GET PEOPLE TO WATCH THE NIT

Go back on your break!!!
Just kiddin Russ.....what up? I don't think I personally know anybody on this board except you so....glad your back.
OK....now to be the only responder to your question (as NOBODY wants to think about NIT...including me), Yes, would be a no brainer if you are on the NIT committee. I would imagine that you would do anything to get attention for this tourney.

Russ, I think it would be great for the NIT. I wonder if it wouldn't be set
up for the two to possibly meet closer to the title game in NY. Would make a nice TV package.
Hope it's a moot point and UK goes to the NCAA. If not, the possibility would be interesting.

Well, for obvious reasons, it would certainly be a game of interest to both schools, and it would no doubt give a shot in the arm to the NIT television ratings. As has been said, I hope we make the NCAA's and it becomes a moot point. However, along with that, Minnesota did beat Ohio State today but beating IU is a tall order, even with all that's gone on with the Hoosiers this year.

Tubby and UK had a mutual divorce. The good times were firmly in the rear-view mirror and it was obviously time to split.
As such, it will remain uncomfortable for awhile. I'd rather not face the Gophers anytime soon, but if we do, I hope we double the score on the Ball Line Defense.

I see UK matched up against Ohio State if they both are in the NIT.

I don't know how the NIT works but I'd bet the marquee teams get some veto power for the early rounds. I hope we would opt out of an early set up match with the gophers. Not yet enough water under that bridge.
Not to worry though. Cats will win at least two of the next three, win at least two in the SECT and will go to the big dance.
