I know that we have to pace these horses to peak at their time.... If we didn't, you would never have any 3 Year Olds left healthy enough for the Triple Crown... Should this same approach apply to Human Athletes... :shrug1:

Of course. Track and field athletes coaches know this, strength athletes know it.

All training comes down to a stimulus/response equation. You have to apply the right dose of the stimulus and allow the body to make the response. People vary in how they respond to exercise. Too much of the stimulus and too often minimizes the response or totally derails it.

I know, but they usually shoot horses when they're injured, so we shouldn't compare horses and humans too closely.

I remember the Far Side comic where they are in a "Horse Hospital" and the doctor is in the bed next to another horse, and you hear a "bam". I do love horses and ours are limping right now.
