Yes, he was. I bought--and still occasionally play--his album, based on his appearance in that movie.

RIP

I suppose some would see Swayze and Elliott as eye-candy, but I just cain't swing that way. :icon_lol:

Sad news...regarding "Roadhouse", it was so stupid I'm surprised Sly Stallone didn't made it...a beautiful doctor just sitting around waiting for a washed up bouncer to appear :icon_rolleyes:

Forty-one!

That would have made him just 21 when "Angel Eyes" was released? He sounded like an old man singing that song. (And I remember when that song was EVERYWHERE.) Impressive.

Angel Eyes is one of my favorite songs of All Time. He has his first rock album in 8 years coming out in April.

For anyone that has heard any live stuff of his or side work, he was a great jazz musician as well.

Sad loss.

I though RP was a man. Ha ha, shows you never really know about another poster.

Angel Eye's was pretty forgettable as a song, but Healy wasn't a bad guitar player.

John Hiatt wrote "Angel Eyes" and the version by New Grass Revival was one of the songs I danced with my wife at our reception. Healy had cancer from birth man

Cancer from birth? That's pretty bizarre. I wonder if that's what caused his blindness.
BTW, I loved 'Confidence Man'. He did sound much older.

Yup.

Healey, 41, died in a Toronto hospital of a rare cancer, retino blastoma, that he had fought since birth and which claimed his eyesight at the age of one.

I remember Kelly Lynch. The non-actress with the great body topped with a man's face.........okay, a man-in-drag face.

Julie Michaels was the looker in that movie............

Roadhouse was a chump movie. So was that one about a bunch of Ky hicks he made. Swayze is such an over rated actor. The chicks dug him in Dirty Dancing. He was tabbed as the next Travolta. But, he picked some dog movies to be in, after his bust out hit.

Seems like we have some disagreement as to the quality of "Roadhouse." I've seen it more times than I should admit. (Those times when it's late when the movie you're watching ends, and before you know it, the next movie has started, and you're tired, so a bad plot is still intriguing enough to make you watch the rest of the movie...)

I don't dislike Roadhouse. I thought it was a good movie for the intended genre. Falls in the line of comic book action movie. Numerous movies that would fall in that category that are watchable, such as "Tango and Cash", "Rambo", etc. If one thinks too much about the improbabilities in the story lines, they ain't gonna like it. :icon_biggrin:

I respectfully submit that RP and I were NOT looking at her face.
