I would consider this plain silly if I hadn't been around so long that I've seen lots of silly stuff passed by our Legislature.

What a stupid bill.
There are some really dumb ones in this session.
One would classify garbagemen in Lexington, but nowhere else, as hazardous duty for retirement - the same plan given to police and prison guards, but not to people doing highway or bridge construction and the like.

There are bills to exempt the sale of lemurs, camels, and camel feed from sales tax. I didn't realize the lemur lobby was that strong.

The only camel I know lives with some llamas and buffaloes on Leestown Road at Midway. He must have a buddy in Frankfort, too.

Those are camoflaged placeholder bills, used to get around legislative rules governing the introduction of new bills after a certain date. One of the camel bills was amended to restrict mountaintop removal mining.
I agree, though, they were silly, as are many bills that legislators introduce in seriousness.
I wish the Kentucky legislature would drastically reduce the amount of time and effort they spend on stupid things like making KFC the official picnic food of the state, and renaming bridges and buildings and roads for everyone. I wonder how much money they waste on those signs alone.
