Heading down to Lexington next week to play some of your best courses (BTW--thanks for those who answered my previous thread). Now, to have the perfect vacation, we need to make many birdies, but also enjoy a great night life.

Could anyone recommend the can't miss eats (for a bunch of guys)--I'm thinking barbeque, steak, burgers, greasy spoons and the like (salads/decor aren't as important to us!). Could you also recommend your favorite place to grab a beer, St. Patty celebration, socialize and/or catch a game?

Thanks :)

Let me run this down in the order you listed:

BBQ: Billy's on the corner of East High and Cochran Road
Steak: Malone's in Lansdowne shopping center or Hamburg Place. Columbia's on South Limestone or Richmond Road, get the nighthawk special
Burgers: Columbia's again, has an excellent lunch special, half pound burger and fries for 4.99 I believe.
If you like Mexican, Mi Pequena Hacienda is on Lansdown Dr, there's another location on Euclid but it's called Rincon, the original name, it's incredible.
Let me add seafood, b/c we have a lot of it for a landlocked city. Regatta seafood in the lexington green shopping center, and The Ketch on Southland Dr are two good local seafood places, or if you drive 30 minutes to Frankfort, Jim's seafood beats the heck out of both of those places.
Mccarthy's Irish bar downtown may be the best place to hang on the St Patty's Day weekend, or Harvey's which is just up the street, or Redmons on Main which has excellent live music on nights thursday through sunday I believe. Good golfing, "So I says, hey lama, how about a little somethin for the action you know..."

I don't live there, but whenever I visit Lexington I like to go to Ramsey's at least once.

Shamrocks on Patchen Drive.
Great "pub food", lots of great beer choices, loads of flat-panel HD TVs, an owner who always has The Golf Channel on at least one TV, live trivia on Thursday nights, a cool bartender, hot "eye candy" servers, and you might even run into Mr. rsjones himself.

How could I have left Shamrocks out! Cold beer, great food, try the irish nachos.

Go to the Ramsey's on High Street where they actually make the pies.
