Has anyone had any experience with this company? I've been referred by friends a couple of times in the past and was even called by them and offered some free samples, but that as about three years ago and I declined since I didn't know anything about them.
I've checked them out on the internet and they look pretty good, but I wanted to know if anyone else has more definite info on them.

They sure look good on the Home Shopping network when ever I am channel surfing and just happen to see them. :)
TrueblueCatFan is probably right. They are probably no better than ones you would pick up at a Kroger? A cow is a cow if it hasn't been grain fed by a local farmer just for butchering, IMO. Sadly, my best source of a farmer that raised a couple head of beef just for the table for himself and friends passed away a couple years ago and now I have to eat like normal people again. :(

They look MUCH better on TV. They are kind of fatty, IMO, and remind me of the kind of steaks you get from those door-to-door meat guys. Yea you get a lot for the money, but the taste isn't all that special. Go to Kroger or wherever and you can do much better.

I assume you get to LEX periodically. If so, go to Critchfield's in Zandale Plaza on Nicholasville Road.
We had some samples of strips, filets and patties at the club on Thursday, and they were great. In fact, everything they have is fabulous. This is the only place I buy country ham at the holidays.

I highly recommend them.

Thanks, Dave. Besides any UK games I can get to, I have family in and around Lexington so I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks, also, for all the other responses.

A local company with good steaks. The Porterhouses are expensive but very good.

I have received Omaha Steaks and I have had a decent experience with them. I would prefer to buy at a local butcher but I thought the free steaks were not bad.

I've ordered Omaha steaks before. They weren't bad, but they weren't as good as what I've gotten from a local meat market.

Basically to repeat what all you guys said, Critchfield is the best butcher in Lexington. We ordered their turkey for Thanksgiving and prime rib for Christmas, both some of the best I've ever had.

Beaten biscuits must be a Western KY thing. My wife and her family are all from Hoptown, and they look forward to us bringing the ham and beaten biscuits every Thanksgiving.
They absolutely have the consistency of drywall as far as I'm concerned, but to each his own.
