I was curious as to how many people have 1 or more of these bottles? I had 3 at one time. Sold 1 to a friend who a few months later was drinking and ran out of liquor and didn't want to send someone to get more and drank his. I saw in the Herald-Leader a full page ad from Makers Mark saying there would only be 2,500 made and I saw an article that said they were selling for $500.

They made a limited-edition, blue wax, 1-liter bottle in 93. I have one of those.

I would never be able to save a bottle of bourbon. A full bottle is meant to be openned and tasted. And, an empty bottle is about as useless as dirt.

On the topic of maker's mark, I'm just curious... Have they released what will be the third and final UK Bball/ Keeneland commerative bottle yet?

The third and final bottle of that particular series will be released just before Keeneland opens its spring meet. I'm really hoping that they honor the 1998 team.
I'm still holding on to my 1993 bottle - still the most valuable of them all.

MM did a denim label/white wax after 1996. Jim Beam did a commemorative bottle after 1998. I have those, also.

MM did commemorative cigars in 1998 as well. The band is a red MM band, it's enclosed in a glass tube etched with 19 KENTUCKY 98, and it's sealed in blue wax. I have 4 of those.
I've also got the 2001 MM commemorative 1-liter bottle. It's sealed with both blue and white wax and has a wildcat on the label. Mine is numbered 3728/7500 and I got it autographed by Guy Morriss.
