Lunardi has four LOCKS from the SEC and we are one of them...regardless of tourny performance. Folks, our momentum is gathering...

Just heard it on ESPN. What a shocker, ESPN saying something positive about us for a change.

They really have no choice. Our play on the court DEMANDS respect.

Exactly, Drew. :)
Also, though, folks, Lunardi's SAYING that we are a LOCK does not mean that we're yet, factually, IN the Big Dance. I'm celebrating the victory over the Gators and am SO HAPPY. :) Part of that happiness is that I, too, feel sure that we are a lock. I know that we SHOULD be a lock. Denying the Cats would be a travesty with our record in the last twelve games, which carry extra weight, besides our finishing second in the respected SEC East. Yet, frankly, we are not yet GUARANTEED that slot.
Unfortunately, no one KNOWS, for sure, that it will happen without an SEC Tourney win. Matt Jones expressed just that point this morning. Personally, I surely feel sure that we are in, but, just in case, I'll be cheering loudly from my spot in front of the television. :) GO CATS!!!

As of the end of regular season UK was like, 31, in the coach's poll. I think given this year, that is a pretty fair rating. They are actually playing like a top 20 squad, IMHO.
Many say UK is a 10-11 seed. I think they are actually higher than that. Maybe in the 8 seed range. They lose on Friday and they may slip to a 10.
Folks, that is a lock.
I think they could play their way into a 6 if they win a few this weekend..
Last year's team wasn't as good and this one, and they were a 9.

Well, whatever happens, I would much rather see the Cats in as an 11 or 12 rather than an 8 or 9, which means you get the #1 seed in the second game. On the other hand, a 5,6, or 7 wouldn't be too shabby.

I agree. I am trying to avoid the 8-9 with a passion.. I won't even bring them up in my opinion posts.. LMAO..
A 6 would mean UK could have a lighter opponent the first day. Probably not much difference between a 6 and 11 these days so I don't think it really matters all that much. Anything below a 4 is a crap shoot.

I don't see that he has us as a lock. He has UT, MSU, & VU in the lock category and thats it.

I SO agree, UKBOO. I am a rather passionate person, certainly a passionate fan. :) With a PASSION, I, too, want the Cats to miss that dreaded 8-9 seed. Those are the only two spots I want to avoid.
In regard to our being a lock, we'll simply have to agree to disagree on the choice of words (and that may be the first time we've disagreed :icon_mrgreen:). We SHOULD be that, and I THINK we are, BUT I just can't say it as a 100 per cent thing without actually KNOWING that we'll get that bid regardless of how we play, or what transpires, in that first game of the SEC Tourney. Otherwise, though, yes, I can say that I am quite confident that we are no longer merely on the bubble. :icon_biggrin: GO CATS!!
