He said I wanna introduce three people to ya. First is Patrick Patterson, a substitute who doesn't get off the bench much. Next, to introduce them both together, are two guys who are tough, resilient, and great leaders...Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford.
Then Ramel and Joe took the mike and thanked the crowd for their support.
Gillispie was very emotional.

Awesome!!! This team has come a long way since early January and has handled adversity like few team could.

It's night and day. Crawford and Bradley have finally showed the heart that we all knew was necessary for the team to improve. And Gillispie seems like a changed man. After looking like he was miserable all season, he really seems to be riding the wave of emotion now that the team is winning. It's like he finally understands that the fans are dying to cheer for the team as long as the effort is there. It wasn't there in the GW and SD games. But it's there now.

Interesting point, Gtownstoney. :) Coach G is indeed seemingly LOVING the Rupp Arena he is NOW seeing. :icon_biggrin: Too, we have indeed seen a different level of effort from the players, especially during the conference race, and UK fans have responded to that EFFORT they have witnessed on the court.
Rupp is NOW a definite homecourt advantage. In some of those other games, though, it had seemed almost dead.
I LOVE Coach G's emotion. When the jumbotron had shown his teary eyes as "My Old Kentucky Home" was being played, my own heart was so touched. Too, after the game, as Coach spoke, he choked up and said something about his being a "big baby." :icon_biggrin: The emotion is most obviously genuine, or from the heart, which is why I like it.
I would not say that Coach has looked miserable "all season," though. Yes, he did look that way early, or he would be smiling in a way that did not seem to be genuine happiness, for sure, :icon_mrgreen: but I saw that changing as the conference race began. I also do not look at Ramel and Joe as having "finally showed heart." Ramel, in particular, has always shown a lot of heart, in my eyes. Just as all the players have taken their effort to a different level, though, Ramel and Joe have taken the description of HEART to another level, too. Each has shown the HEART of a LION through the conference race, especially after the loss of Patrick, and I thank them from the bottom of my own heart. :) GO CATS!!!
