I turned on the TV last night and the TV was set to channel 18, WLEX in Lexington.
On the sports news a press conference Coach Brooks was being giving about a signee. CBR said this kid was a "play making fool". Then they interviewed the kid and he said he had always been a Florida State fan but Kentucky was on the rise.
Then they interviewed the signee's high school coach and he was laughing at CBR's reaction when he saw all the FSU paraphernalia inb the kid's locker. He spoke of how versitile the kid was, e.g. played linebacker and returned KO's and punts.
The WLEX people laughed that only CBR could call someone a fool and get away with it.
I tuned in a moment too late to find out the name of the kid or where he is from or if he is with incoming class or an upcoming high school senior.
For all I know it could have been a video made at the February signing date but my impression was that we signed one more just recently.
Can anyone help me out here?

Well, I have no idea, but I do not think Brooks can comment about an unsigned prospect, so my guess is it would have to have been someone in this year's signing class.

Good point SBC, that point went right over my head. You are exactly correct. I don't guess I would be cut out to be a police detective.

I have no idea who that might be and at first I wanted to say Marlon Brown who is a 5-star WR for '09 but coaches cannot comment on recruits.

By the way, Marlon is ranked #13 in the nation and has UK high on his list since he wants to play both FB and BB (a 3-star in BB).

He's talking about the signee from Nashville. The one who plays defense. A "playmaking fool" is how Brooks desribed the kid on signing day.

Calling him perhaps the "biggest sleeper in this class," Brooks raved about the potential of Tennessee athlete William Johnson (6-3, 195, 4.5), who is projected to play outside linebacker.

"He's a play-making fool," Brooks said. "He runs all over the field, he's very athletic, very physical, and he'll knock you into next week. I'm really excited about him."

:thumbup:, justacatsfan. Too, when Coach Brooks had thus raved about Johnson, I had wondered if our original involvement in this "sleeper" had been related to our recruitment of his teammate, highly touted quarterback Deaunte Mason, who committed early to the Cats and stuck with his commitment. Regardless, I LIKE Coach Brooks' words. :)
