Michigan - coached them to a national title as an interim coach.Athletic Director Bo Schembechler had released then coach BillFrieder prior to the NCAA tounament after Frieder announced he was leaving for Arizona State to accept their head coaching position.

I don't think Fischer coached at Arizona State. That was Bill Frieder (I thinnk).

Steve Fisher is one of the nation's elite coaches having won a national championship at Michigan. Any list of the game's great coaches would have to include Fisher....wouldn't it?
