There were a lot of complaints on the thread about the SEC awards as selected by the SEC coaches. I had been one who had been PLEASED(although I would have naturally preferred for Joe also to have been on the first team). Anyway, Coach Gillispie had won (okay, shared) the SEC Coach of the Year. Ramel had made the first team, while Patrick and Joe had made the second team. Patrick had shared the Freshman of the Year award.

The AP awards were listed in the CJ today. Coach Pearl was selected as SEC Coach of the Year. Ramel Bradley was named to the second team. Joe Crawford was listed as Honorable Mention. Nick Calesthes won the Best Newcomer Award.

As I said, those other awards had looked good to me. FWIW, it seems to me that the coaches who actually competed against the UK coach and his players showed them A LOT more respect than the media showed them.

Yes, I still vote for OUR coach, and all three Cats were more deserving than how the media saw it, in my opinion. YET, instead of making this thread one of complaints (and, goodness knows, we have had enough complaining on here lately), maybe we can better appreciate the awards from the SEC coaches. Too, while Patrick cannot gain any more respect this season, Ramel and Joe surely can! DO IT, Ramel and Joe! :) GO CATS! BEAT MARQUETTE!

You are right about Bradley and Crawford, they played their hearts out this year. I can not see why Joe can't get some love because no one can stop him. We know our coach can getter done. We have some great seniors and they will be missed.

I hope Joe and Ramel just put on an absolute show for their LAST DANCE!

I still just get a major 'What If' feeling about Crawford.

'What if' he had been under Coach Gillespie for 4 years? Dang.

Lets face it, Bradley had his worse game of the year last Saturday, I do not beleave that will happen again, so thats a possitive. Crawfotd has not had a bad game in a month of Sundays. If Stevenson, Harris and Jasper step up and have good games I beleave they can beet Marquette. I also beleave Jasper just may have a breakout game thursday.

Joe gets plenty of love from UK fans. And that amounts to more than any player can get anywhere. :widcat:
I don't need the media, I don't even listen to them anymore. I do, by and large, respect the opinion of other coaches, though.

I can agree with that.

Well-said, capcat. :) Too, that had been my point. I FAR more respect the opinions of the other SEC coaches. Also, while I also don't need the media, may the Cats and their coach still get that respect they deserve from the media, beginning Thursday! :)
