the 1998 UK-Duke game to unwind before the games start to get me in a good mood. :ggrin:

The UK Florida game from 03 where they were ranked #1 and we destroyed them is right up there for me as well.

I lived in Haggin Hall (not my first choice of dorm btw.... it pays to sign up early) during the year of the Duke game and it was (if I recall) the Sunday that spring break was ending.... A bunch of us were sitting in the lobby watching on the big screen, like 10-12 of us. By the end of the game there must have been 60+ people standing around watching the game. As guys walked in they just stopped in their tracks watching the game as UK made the big comeback, not even bothering to take their bags to their rooms.
And afterwardsit was like everyone just won the lottery....... and then there was Euclid and Woodland.... ah.... college.

Heck, I think I wept a little bit sitting up by your dad at the end of the 'Bama game.
I'm sensitive like that.

I wouldn't be surprised if you told me that he did as well. I mean, come on, that was the SECOND victory he'd ever seen live.
Along those lines, next year in Atlanta, if we play South Carolina, he's staying at the hotel.
Another interesting UK/Duke tidbit I'll share...after the 1992 game (as in immediately after, i.e. as soon as that damn ball went through the damn hoop) was the first time my parents ever heard me utilize a curse word. For some reason, they didn't mind too much!

We may have to stay in the hotel with him if it turns out that way, considering we're all 0 for our last 2 against USC. Like Joe, my family has never seen a UK win over USC in the SEC Tourney.
BTW, it was a lot of fun watching the games with you guys. Two of the more insightful fans - you and your dad - that I've had the pleasure of meeting. We HAVE to get together next year in Atlanta.

:thumbup Thanks for the kind words, I'll be sure to share them with Dad. That feeling is mutual, and we'll DEFINITELY look you guys up in Atlanta next year.

I feel like some back story is needed here because this is a really extraordinary story.
Littlemeyer's dad had only been to one UK game EVER - the UK loss to USC in the 2002 SEC Tournament.
Strangely, coincidentally, that was the first SEC Tournament my family ever went to.
I happened to be sitting by Littlemeyer's dad this year when we lost to USC.
There has to be some bad mojo working there, doesn't there? HAS to be.

I would suggest watching the UK-Cincy game from last year, as that game was played in Indy and our guys executed very well in that game. Perhaps we can get back to that venue before the end of this tournament?
I look for incredible determination and fight from our guys tonight.

I was just joking with you two.
Seriously, I think Littlemeyer's dad should officially be banned from ever attending another UK/USC game. ;):P

Good ol' Haggin Hall. When I was a Freshman (1976), IT was the boys freshman dorm of choice (shows you how old I am). Lived on C3 corridor. Remember coming back to the dorm one Sunday afternoon from home to find that someone had dammed up the shower room and made a swimming pool. Flooded the floor below. Campus police came and lined us all in the hall to interrogate us.
Those were good times.:thumbup

:ggrin: We may not have to worry about any official ban. He may take care of that himself. It took all the strength we could muster just to get him to go back this year!
At Kirwin Tower, some guys figured out how to open the elevator doors when the elevator was on another floor. They then threw all the lobby furniture into the elevator shaft. Do you think that was dangerous?

We used to pull those doors open and feel the elevator "skip."
It was like feeling your heart stop.
So stupid.
Some kid fell out of a window at Kirwan Tower 3-4 years ago and died!

Oh it COULD be a blast at times.... on the other hand if you ever needed to actually study it could also be pure hell.
Nothing like 5 fire drills in a single night....... when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground. I spent more than one night asleep with my head down on a table in the old MI King library crosswalk (which doesn't exist anymore of course). You ALWAYS walked outside your room with sandals as you never knew when you would open up the door to 4 cases of broken beer bottles and 2 spent fire extinguishers (actually happened, they were alot less restrictive on the alcohol then even only 8 years ago).
But I must say, you were never at a loss for things to do. I lived in 2 different cell blocks...err halls, D1 and B2. Both had their advantages - B2 faced Donovan Hall :ggrin: (the Girls freshman dorm for those not in the know) and D1 was a ground level with easy access windows if you catch my drift.
