I wonder how stupid he feels picking FSU. Comparing UK gets to the big dance even in one of its worst (record) years in recent history and FSU is losing to freakin Akron in the 1st round of the NIT. Yea way think things though Chris. Enjoy your coach next year since it is possible it will not be Hamilton after this bomb.

He probably doesn't care. He's looking to play one and done anyway.

He's looking for an outlet to the NBA anyway.
There's no reason to hate on the kid for making a choice that he felt benefited him. He felt Hamilton could get him into the pros, and who's to say that he won't?

I wasn't "hating" on him just pointing out that he might be rethinking his decsion to go to FSU after this season.
Not many guys go to the NBA after one year who's team doesn't even make the NCAA and/or gets put out in the first round of the NIT.

I wasn't directing the "hate" comment at you.
I agree that his chance in the limelight would have been much better at Kentucky (or a school like it), but who knows - every once in awhile, a school without a marquee name will shine bright with big stars (i.e. Kansas State and Michael Beasley). Not saying Singleton is Beasley or even close, but you get my drift.

First, players dont always just go to a school to win. They go because of their own development and a relationship with the coach. And Hamilton has a very good track record the last 3-4 years of getting guys to the NBA. I wich UK fans werent so arrogant to think a kid is regretting his decision just because we made the tourney and they didnt. Same with Jai Lucas.

Not really. He has had some kids end up in the NBA but I can't remember any early entrants or anyone having great success there. Al Thorton went last year but he we 23 or 24 years olds. Von Wafer was a 2nd round pick a couple of years ago. That is it. Jason Rich went from a 4 star recruit to never heard from again and is now a SR. I think he had an OK year but I litterally have not heard about him until this ACC tourney were he had 20+ points while his team got beat by about 20. They have signed 12 4 star and above recruits since 2003 and only 1 guy was drafted in the first round and have yet to make the NCAA tourney. Why any recruit would want to go there is beyond me.
No one cares about FSU basketball and they don't get to the NCAA so you get very little attention unless you are other worldly like Beasley(Singleton is not IMO.) I say none of this as sour grapes. If he is happy at FSU, more power too him, I have just been amazed at how much talent has gone there never to be heard from again and how little success they have actually had under Hamilton. I think Hamilton may get fired and if he does we may get another shot at Singleton, though we may be out of scholarships by then.

Keep in mind that Hamilton was chief recruiter for Joe B, and that is when the NCAA started taking up residence is Lexington. He had just left when the walls came tumbling down. Whenever we lose a recruit to FSU it is always in the back of my mind that he may be back to his old tricks.

Using the same criteria on the opposite end, Josh Duncan probably isn't regretting his decision. Xavier has maybe their best team ever.

Xavier was 3 points away from the Final Four just 4 years ago.
This is probably Xaiver's highest regarded team ever, but that team from four years ago with Romain Sato, Lionel Chalmers, Justin Doellman, Justin Cage, Anthony Myles, ect. That was their best team ever, in my opinion. That team was extremely talented and took out Louisville, Mississippi State, and Texas consecutively.
But, I agree with you, Duncan isn't regretting his decision in the least bit. Nor is Singleton going to regret his. Most recruits don't care what happens with their teams until they get on campus.

Exactly what I was thinking! He signs big time players all the time and they are developed into what? Very few are turned into big time pros. Al thorton as you mentioned. But, other than that Hamilton doesn't have that great of a track record as a head coach.

What players has he developed into good pros?
Why is that an arrogant statement? I was simply stating the fact that that between the two teams he was down to which one had a better season. Not to mention if you notice it was more about them losing in the first round of the NIT to Akron than them not making the NCAA. In addition to that I don't understand why these kids keep picking FSU they do nothing! If they don't want to come to UK so be it but atleast pick a team that might get you to the NBA if that is why you are picking them. If you want to go to FSU for the money and/or the hot chics then just say that because it isn't NBA development that is the reason.

Living in ACC land I heard before the season started that Leonard was on the hot seat. I don't know if FSU considers their season successful enough to eliminate any questions about the security of his job. It will be interesting to see if that was just talk now that their season is over. :shrug1:
