The last score I had been able to get was 2-0 in favor of Auburn. Since no one has posted here, I'm thinking our Cats may have lost their first game of the season. Yet, JUST MAYBE that is not the case. Does anyone know the final score?

I know they play again today and that the broadcast will be on WLAP, but I will be out of town and away from the computer. Regardless, GOOD LUCK to the Bat Cats today. Too, thanks for any score of last night's game.

AUBURN, Ala. -- Needing one win to tie the school record for the longest winning streak in school history, the No. 2 Kentucky baseball team stranded a season-high 12 runners on base, as the Auburn Tigers handcuffed the Wildcats hot-hitting offense, handing UK its first loss of the season, 2-0 on a beautiful Friday evening in front of 2,159 fans at Plainsman Park.

Kentucky (19-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) got a solid pitching performance from Friday starter Chris Rusin, who kept UK in the ballgame, allowing two runs and striking out 10 in eight complete innings. Rusin suffered the loss, falling to 3-1 on the year.
Auburn shut down the hot bats of the Wildcats, riding a boisterous crowd and magnificent pitching performance from three Tigers, including six shutout innings from starter Grant Dayton. Middle reliever Evan Crawford came in and worked 1 1/3 innings, walking four and striking out two before handing the ball over the closer Bryan Woodall. Woodall tossed the final 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out three for his fifth save of the year.
The Wildcats got a multi hit game from leadoff man Keenan Wiley and hits from Collin Cowgill, Brian Spear, Sawyer Carroll and Chris McClendon. UK senior second baseman Ryan Wilkes had his 14-game hit streak snapped, going 0-for-3, including stranding a team-high four runners on base. UK and Auburn resume the series on Saturday with a 4 p.m. ET first pitch at Plainsman Field. Fans can catch the action live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio) with Neil Price and Dick Gabriel calling the action. In Lexington, fans can hear the game on WLAP 630-AM and in Louisville, the game can be heard on WKJK 1080-AM. UK right hander Scott Green gets the call to face off with Tiger lefty Corey Luckie. .....

Thanks to both of you.

Too, that we left twelve runners on base in a 2-0 game makes it a little harder. Further, I had read that the Cats had missed reaching #1 in that Collegiate Baseball poll by ONE vote. :icon_sad: May the Cats bounce right back with a win today, of course! :)

UKathletics.com says game today at 2. My family doesn't come until 4 for Easter dinner so I can listen to the BatCats on 1080 here in Louisville while doing dinner preps.
GO BATCATS!

19-0. Equaled best start in school history.

Thanks, UKFaninCO. Too, that's what I had originally thought.

YET, I had read an article in the CJ about the Cats' losing to Auburn when they had been 18-0, one short of their record. That's why I had posted the 20-2 record, when it should have been 21-2. Weird. I'm wondering if it had been a typo in the CJ. I had thought that I had simply been mistaken in thinking that the Cats had been 19-0 before the loss. I wish someone could provide a link for the CJ article. Surely it wasn't just a dream on my part. :shrug1: :icon_redface:
