My comment: Buying a book to watch only Kentucky games sucks. It is necessary in the small Nashville arena or such, but tickets are fairly abundant in Catlanta to buy at individual game prices. The SEC hardly ever places Kentucky fans well in the venues because they know they will come to the Tourney anyway.
Yes, I was a sucker. The last time though.

This really dosen't matter to me, I don't guess, because I did not get to attend the tourney; but their decision sucks. If you have an unused ticket book, intact, you should be able to return it to the SEC office and get a refund of that face value, regardless of where you bought it from. This is the biggest case of bull I have seen in a long time. It's a good way to not have to pay out very many refunds, and they know it.:tongue3:

Why is the biggest fanbase in the SEC putting up with the SEC when other conferences would love to have us? I say it's time to take our money and go elsewhere. Hello ACC?

Yeah, but who are UK fans going to cheer for in the ACC tournament :icon_lol:.

Part of it is because Kentucky makes a butt pot of money in the SEC.
Your anger is aimed at the wrong entity. As a founding member of the SEC, Kentucky is where that ire should be directed.
If the university gets enough grief over it, they should then plead on behalf of their fans to the SEC.
Action in that regard is more likely than expecting the university leaving a conference it helped start.

I read the policy and am upset also. If they know who bought each book, they could have said "UK sold books ??? thru??? and Ga sold books ??? thur ??? and let those people holding those books into the game.
It really hurts those who bought a book lost early and sold them to a scalper for a pittance and could have gotten their money back.
It also hurts the scalpers who had to take a bath on this, I know many will disagree but scalpers provide a service to those of us who do not have a ticket connection.
I TOO BELIEVE THAT IF YOU HAVE AN UNUSED TICKET; YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A REFUND. I hope some lawyer with nothing to do sues the SEC for this,

Why would they enact a policy that hurts UK fans the most? It makes no sense to me at all. Do they want the dome to be empty next year?
I guess they've proved that fans don't generate the money that TV does. Hence the policy to hurt what looks to be the majority of the fans. The UK variety!
When I attended in the mid-90's, the dome was near full capacity for basketball. Attendance has declined but they probably make more money than ever. The key word being M-O-N-E-Y that they intend to keep. :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

Well, there goes the money I spent on a book from a guy on the street. I spent pretty close to face value and I guess I am not going to get that money back. That sucks a LOT. I am guessing 50% or more of the tickets are sold on the secondary market and I am guessing that the SEC is the one that dumps them INTO the secondary market... how else would scalpers get so many good tickets? This hurts UK fans the most and is a pretty crappy policy. If they are willing to honor "secondary market" tickets at the door they should also be willing to refund the $ of those who hold those tickets.

I agree it hurts UK fans most, but it hurts all fans who bought tickets on the secondary market, period.
The SEC screwed the majority of it's own attending fan base - and the universities are complicit as they ARE the SEC.
Whatever the SEC decided was with the approval of its member schools.
UK's office should be flooded with irate callers.

I agree with you completely. I didn't go to the tournament and have no stake in this, but it's ridiculous not to refund ALL unused tickets, regardless of how obtain. Is this policy even legal? It's bordering on outright theft. There should be lawsuits flying over this. I'm sure there was a lawyer or two that was stiffed

Guess the SEC frowns on scalping.
