Who's going?
I think we need to bring some blue to the crowd to show Majok and Hopson(if he attends) where are fans are at.
I'll be there!

I'm gonna try to make it. I've been the last couple years, it's always a lot of fun. Anyone know if they're doing a warm up event the night before again?

I'll be there. I make the trip every year with my father-in-law. I am really looking forward to seeing Ater Majok.

I'll definitely be there.
Went last year and really enjoyed it. This season should be even better because there could be a stronger UK showing in the game. Now that Majok has signed on, it's a must-see event.

Who is this guy?

Who is this guy?
Ater Majok, big-time Australian player. Experts say if he would've played in the States, he might be in the time ten.

I didn't think Hopson was in it. He's already playing in two other all-star games. That is the limit.

Not only that, but the guy checks in at an impressive 208cm. And at 99kg, he's got some strength to boot.
(Oh...and that wingspan! I would have guessed 195, 200cm tops. Nope. How about 223cm!!!! :icon_exclaim:)

So he has signed with Kentucky?

No. Still undecided, though UK is one of his favorites.
He's signed on to play in the Derby Classic game.

Gotcha
My friend is working the game, so he's staying with all the players.
But Majok is a big, big guy. 6-10' with a possibility of ending up over 7ft tall. Possibly one of the best HS players if he would've played in the states.
Hope we can land this monster.
Where can I find out info on the DC? I'd love to try and go.
It's April 19th at Freedom Hall, tickets are around 15 dollars.
That's all the info I can give you.

I would, but my son's Nerf court isn't regulation. :icon_neutral:
I'm pretty sure Ater could tear that baby down.

The other event is the Southern Kentucky Books Fest. Mitch Albom is one of the featured guests. I'd love to see Mitch on my son's Nerf court. I doubt he could dunk a 5'3".

Is there any way to get tickets to this before the game? Last time I went the line was nuts at the door.

yeah, I've seen Mitch. He's a foot shorter than I am. Not sure I'd trade seeing Ater Majok for Mitch Albom, but there are authors out there that I would have traded nearly anything to see, the late Robert A. Heinlein and the late Robert Jordan come to mind.

Harlan Coben is another featured speaker. Looking forward to meeting him, although I've noticed when I meet (relatively) famous people I sort of just stand there and stare off into the middle distance. "Love your work" is about all I got.
As for tickets to the DC:
I got them last year on Ticketmaster before the event. Had them waiting for me at the will call. I think you can order them through the Derby Classic Website.
