He's a winner.
Just like Darius Miller brought Mason County a Kentucky state high school hoops championship in '08.....Paul McCoy led Grant High to the Oregon 6A state championship this year as well.

Winning is contagious. Winners are contagious....and have a way of rubbing off on, affecting, and making those around them better.
I heard a coach at one time talk about the key to building a winning program. And a major ingredient was to bring in players that know how to win. Guys that have the "hate to lose" attitude, and who know what success is like and have experience with it.
Now how cool would that be for Kentucky to land not only two of the top players in their respective state, but the undisputed leaders of TWO high school state championship teams?

I absolutely agree. Knowing how to win brings a LOT to the table.

Cool. I always thought my problem in basketball was I sucked! But now I know I just didn't know how to win!!! :) Actually, as a tennis player, I can attest that this is most true. You will have players at a comparable talent level, but some just know how to win, and others don't. Good post Blue_N_White.

Michelle Wei comes to mind. All the talent in the world, but, doesn't have a clue as to how to win.

Personally, I think he would be a huge get. He kind of reminds me of an Acie Law/Chris Lofton player. A big sleeper. Just what BillyClyde is looking for.

Thanks blue_n_white for your comments, finally someone that makes sense,it takes more than talent to win ballgames#1 the desire to win,#2 Talent,#3 a good coach. if you miss any 1 of the three you will never be a winner.just an opinion.

Great post, Blue_N_White. Too, I so agree about the importance of a winning attitude.
For ones who also follow the UK football program, I had overheard Coach Brooks talking about the recruiting class that had Wesley Woodyard in it. He had specifically mentioned Wesley and had said that he and others in the class had come from WINNING traditions, and such attitudes were so important to UK's becoming a winning program. Coach had been SO enthused as he had discussed that recruiting class's competitive, winning attitudes.
We all saw what happened in Kentucky football Wesley's junior and senior years. I, too, would LOVE for Mr. McCoy to become a Cat as still another leader of a state-championship team. Such intangibles are important. It's not all simply about a player's number of stars.
