BGI catches up with Jackson
Rising junior listing six
04/15 - Chad Jackson has already established himself as one of Kentucky's top talents. Jackson is Bluegrass Insider's No. 2 prospect in the 2010 class behind close friend Dakotah Euton. Now the rising junior is looking to solidify his status on a more national stage.
After a stellar sophomore season at Rose Hill where he lead the Crusaders to a 20-11 record while leading the team in scoring, Jackson looks to use the AAU spring and summer circuits to both improve his game and ramp up his recruiting.
"I was satisfied," Jackson said of his season at Rose Hill. "I gave it my all every game."
Jackson did it all running the point for the Crusaders this season. At 6-4, Jackson is at his best creating off the dribble, getting to the rim and creating for others. The biggest knock on Jackson continues to be his outside shot, which he says he improved this season.
"Teams started zoning us and backing off of me," Jackson said. "It's improved a whole lot."
Jackson said that while he currently holds scholarship offers from West Virginia and Xavier, he is also receiving interest from Louisville, Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana.
Jackson said he has been hearing from Louisville assistant Richard Pitino. As far as Euton commiting to Kentucky, Jackson said that while it doesn't hurt, he has to make an individual decision, but added that the Cats are certainly in the mix.
"I'm not going to say it doesn't help, but that was his decision," Jackson said. "But Kentucky is definitely in the picture."
Jackson seemed to be extremely high on Xavier, who made a run to the Elite Eight this season before falling to UCLA.
"They've come a long way," Jackson said of the Musketeers. "They've stepped up their program and now they're playing (deep into the tournament)."
Along with Euton, Jackson will run with the OBC Patriots again this season.
