Big weekend for recruiting

Harrellson is on campus on his official visit. Majok, McCoy, and Sutton are at the Derby Festival, with Liggins and Miller of course. Hopefully we can get some commits.

I'm trying to help out by keeping my fingers crossed. ;) Seriously, yes, I'm surely hoping that's the case. Too, to me, the longer we go beyond this weekend without getting a commitment from those guys, the less likely we are to sign each. Monday just COULD bring some really good news. :)

I'm not going to be disappointed at all with Sutton. He could help this team right away, IMO.

But Majok is a future NBA player. It would be disappointing if he ends up at UCONN.

Gunsmoke, I just know what I read elsewhere-----which means I know nothing :icon_mrgreen:. I just look at information from various sources, and try to put together something that seems reasonable. That's very difficult to do.

I agree, I think Majok next to Patterson would be close to the level of Noah/Horford....if he ends up at UCONN (which is the clear favorite) I would be really dissapointed. Seems like we are in the final 2-3 schools for a LOT of the top players and we just can't close the deal (minus Patterson). I expect that to change in the next few years.

Seems like you and I kind of agree on a lot of things...including the Jasper situation (but people like us and RP_Murphy are gonna be the minority in that one, due to the love affair that many UK fans have with the players, but that's OK...I can live with that).

But throughout the years, Kentucky has a long history of "just missing out". I remember as a kid, waiting and watching for Ralph Sampson to announce where he was going. Came down to Kentucky and Virginia....and the rest is history. That's just one of many, many "near misses" for Kentucky basketball...hopefully Majok won't be another "near miss" (insert fingers crossed smiley here).....

Yep, of course Kentucky had landed several, several high profile and blue chip recruits over the years. The '79 class that Kentucky missed out on Sampson included Sam Bowie, Derrick Hord, Dirk Minniefield, Charles Hurt and Tom Heitz!

So I wasn't trying to paint a "doom and gloom" picture....just pointing out how often it seems to come down to "Kentucky and someone else", where the "someone else" gets the prized recruit. And in this case, I'm simply HOPING with Majok, that's not the case.......

Haven't heard much countrycat. But it doesn't look real good for Flemmings to qualify right now. I think he still has some classes to go before he gets his associates degree. I'm pretty sure that's the situation.
