"I thought both quarterbacks did some very, very good things," said Brooks afterward. He also admitted that, "Nobody has the clear edge at this point."
Nor, as Brooks pointed out, should Will Fidler be counted out. The redshirt sophomore is not yet 100 percent from his off-season shoulder surgery, yet threw the ball well on five attempts. Once Fidler has a full summer to rehab his shoulder, said Brooks, "He's definitely a guy who is going to be in some kind of the mix."
