I'm listening to the WLAP Sports Nightly Show and again feel proud of our UK football program and the former seniors. They just finished talking to Coach Steve Brown and Wesley Woodyard.

Coach Brown spoke of those guys' CHARACTER and how they had laid the strong foundation for our football program with that character. He also noted how all the NFL coaches and scouts at the Senior Bowl had raved about that character in the Kentucky players. Coach Brown went on to say how he would love for his own kids to grow up and be the type of people four or five of the seniors were, adding, "including this knucklehead, " referring to Wesley.

Again, it made me proud. How I wish all those guys the best in the draft!

UK is losing Woodyard to graduation and LB is supposed to be a big strength this season. I hope the LBs will all play as hard as Wesley did every down, last season.

Wesley surely set a fine example, boomdaddy. Too, I think our linebackers WILL follow his example in playing hard every down. I especially look forward to seeing Braxton and Micah in there together. Braxton reportedly performed quite well at Wesley's position in the spring game, leading the team with twelve tackles, and Micah added eight. Also, Sam Maxwell had a really nice spring game with nine tackles. :)

Too, Wesley and the other seniors set fine examples in character, as Coach Brown mentioned. We still have lots of character guys returning. Some of them are going to need to step up and be the LEADERS those guys had been in their careers at Kentucky.
