View Full Version : D. Kersey on Majok

Kersey's posting on the free board at TCP that his sources tell him Kentucky is "really in the hunt" for Majok and might even have an edge.
Who knows what may happen, but Kersey is one of the few on the Internet who has brought trusted information quite a few times to these situations.
Hold on tight, boys.

Mark, Meeks isn't going anywhere. He dispelled that myth yesterday. Just wanted to make sure you knew that!

Just read where the Meeks thing is a rumor. Well...I sure hope that's true.
Still, we need some players.

If Billy lands Majok I will never, never, ever, ever question anything ever, ever again and I will never never be negative about any recruiting situations and never ever ever say we missed and it will always be that Billy didn't really want them and he will always, always get the benefit of the doubt always.
Somebody hand me another Makers.

I am serious, it's not just the Makers talking. If he lands Majok, I will bow down, figuratively speaking.

Dave Kersey is very reputable. This is really good news.
I think hes Uconn bound too, I kept preaching that SH was TN bound. Lets hope I go 50/50 :) Not that I have but I'll second that never saying anything about recruiting if we land him lol. Could you imagine a developing Majok and a BEASTLY 2Pat...... eesh I need a drink.

I'm ready for next season so we can get away from all these romors and heresays that wind up being totally wrong.(Meeks transfer)

I know the atmosphere of the university and town are not the deciding factors for a young man in making a commitment. That being said, how in the world would anyone who just spent a week in Lexington sign on to spend a year or so in Storr's, Conn??????????? I never was that close to any of my coaches, baseball or basketball. Go figure.:shrug1:

Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one. The Cats' signing Majok would MORE than compensate for any disappointments. :icon_biggrin:
P.S. I just read your post again, Will. Let's make that "boys AND girls." lol

I agree with everyone saying that DKersey is a very reputable poster. However, please.. please remember not to get upset or bash the guy (even though he does not post here) if Majok goes elsewhere. In my mind, we are still a long shot to get Majok only bc we are so late in the game and UConn has been rumored to be the team to beat from the beginning.
I'll say this in closing, it is absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g what BCG has been able to accomplish so far in Majok's recruitment. And we have not even landed this guy.

Well-said, Coldstream. By the way, if we don't get Majok, no, I won't get upset, and I won't bash the Kersey guy or anyone. Yet, I cannot help but get excited that there's still hope for our getting Majok. :) Yes, kudos to Gillispie that we are at this point with Majok, and MAY IT HAPPEN! :)

If we somehow got Ater to come here, that would have to put us in the top 10 of classes wouldn't it? Can you just see him with PP down low. That would just be so awesome.

I dream of a frontline of P Patterson, Majok, and Harrelson. That would be scary for any team in the nation to go up against. Talk about going BIG! I think Harrelson's decision doesn't effect Majok's either. I think they are going to end up being different positions. Majok at the 5 possibly and Harrelson at the 4, (possibly the 3 with PP in there too.) Man, would this take the load off of Patrick. He needs some help desperately. Triple Towers! (I can dream can't I?)

I believe we are all dreaming the same thing. PP would elevate his game to another level in my opinion. Less stress, more help down low, yeah he could really operate from the block.

So he IS taking a look at KU? That would suck. I still think it is between the Cats and UCONN though.

I know its not anyones intention but lets not forget the improvements Stevenson made this year. Who says these guys will take his spot?

Stevenson is a good player....I don't think anyone SHOULD be suggesting otherwise. It's just that at 6'-9", 200 pounds...he is AWFULLY thin to be expecting a majority of minutes in the middle, going up against Centers that are equal or taller in height, but have about 30+ pounds on him. Perry is more of a natural 4....but with PP solidly locked in at the 4, I think some are simply looking for a more physical presence down low to team with PP in the front court.
But make no mistake...Perry will be counted on heavily for major minutes and production this year....possibly as the starter, and definitely spelling both PP and whoever (if it's not Perry) the starting Center will be.....

Who's saying Majok would take his spot? Last time I checked you can play with more than two inside players.

Will I didnt say anyone would take Perrys spot. Was replying to all the dreams of the different front lines and no one mentioned Perry. Just saying all these dreams of this and that and now Majok isnt coming anyway. Even with two big men in at the same time I still didnt see Perry mentioned thats all. It was like he suddenly went to the back of the list. Just showing our cat some love along side some that havent even signed yet. :)

I agree with your sentiment and posted as much in a different thread a long time ago. I think there is no way Perry Stevenson is not a starter on this team next year. I fully expect him and Patterson to start down low next year and be a pretty dynamic duo. Especially now that Majok is not coming. I always saw Majok more as a 3 anyway, especially as he developed. He is VERY uncomfortable down low. But he would have filled a need initially for talented depth inside. Now we have to hope for Harrellson or Sutton to provide that, and maybe Stewart some. But I see Stewart becoming more active on the perimieter as well.
