Very disappointed in the draft. Wesley Woodyard not getting picked is just awful and Andre not going till the 6th and then to the giants also horrible.

:widcat::widcat: Go CATS!!!

Well, if the NFL thing doesn't work out for Wes, I hope he would consider coming back the UK in some official capacity. Although I really hope someone picks him up as a free agent, because they will be getting a steal and a hell of a player.

Wesley will get a bunch of try outs, land somewhere and likely show his ability on special teams. He will stick with who ever takes him and I bet he will have a long stint in the NFL.

Two time all SEC, fastest 40 time of all OLB prospects, a great game in the senior bowl, a head hunters headhunter and a leader among leaders. I'm real disappointed at his not being picked.

Same feelings here, UedK. I am SO disappointed for Wesley. :icon_sad: Like you, though, I fully believe Wesley will make a team as an unrestricted free agent, which can work out even better for him. Too, because I had been waiting to post WHEN Wesley was drafted, I had not been able to view this thread and had thus started a thread about Wesley. Actually, he deserves just that, still another thread, a positive thread about what he WILL do in the NFL. GO WESLEY!

I am also shocked that Wesley was not picked. He could be a great pickup for some team that was just too afraid of his size to use a pick on him. I'd like to see the Bengals sign him, given they are light at that position, but you never know. Bottom line, Woodyard will be on a team come this fall.

I hope that Wesley only signs a two year deal with lots of incentives, because once he proves himself he will be commanding a much higher salary.

Singletary really loved him during the Senior Bowl

Perhaps the Falcons new GM who clusterbombed in his first draft could redeem himself by signing Wesley.

And will somebody tell my what felony Andre committed to drop that far.

That's ridiculous!

I didn't think he was the #1 pick, but good grief! And the Giants of all teams ... was really hoping for the Colts.

I honestly thought Wesley would be the first UK player picked in the draft. When I kept seeing LB's from North Dakota State and other similar schools drafted and I kept thinking, here is a guy that led the freaking SEC in tackles and you people are taking these cans of corn over him?????
I can sorta understand the Andre thing. The pro guys hated his throwing mechanics, I had read that he didn't do well on the tests and interviews at the NFL combine.......but, Wesley????? Completely stumped.

But, Wesley will sign as a free agent someplace. And that someplace is going to get a VERY good football player. Best of luck to all the 'Cats.
