I, too, am planning on staying up for the entire game tonight, WildcatRick. :icon_biggrin: By the way, WildcatRick was surely a faithful fan last night, folks. :icon_biggrin: I'll let him continue to do the reports tonight.

Dang! A two-run homer gives Ole Miss the win. :icon_sad: It's on to later today against Alabama again.

Especially with how resilient the Cats were tonight in coming back so often. This one hurts. Alabama will be waiting for us with baited breath. I really hope this was just a setback. I still think this team has some potential to do some great things. Ole Miss and LSU are playing GREAT ball at the moment. Paxton, Albers and Green were a little disappointing tonight. We still have a chance though.

It was indeed a heartbreaker after all the comebacks and having taken the lead in the ninth. I couldn't go to sleep AND kept thinking of the game's ending after dozing a bit from time to time. I think that's the most my heart had been involved in a UK baseball game. Too, we had seemed perfectly set up for the tourney AND for hosting a regional. :icon_sad:

Although it's really the same day, it's a new day in that they must compete again tonight and get themselves in that good position again. Here's hoping they can bounce back from such a heartbreaker. GO BAT CATS!

I stayed up and listened to it and was so far from thinking we'd loose on a walk off home run it really hit me. I can't imagine how hard it hit the team. That's baseball though, Cats are still alive. They sort of exploded against Bama on Wednesday, lets hope for another Cat explosion tonight.

sounds like a heartbreaker...........but the BATCATS should still get a bid into the NCAA tourney..right?????????????

Yeah, the bid should still happen I think. I have heard that 40 wins in collegiate baseball is usually the parameter that the NCAA uses. UK is way up there in wins now, with 44 or so, I think. I saw that they are also in the running for hosting a regional. Ga. was the #8 national projected seed on ESPN, so I imagine that there is a lot of room to move up in there if we can get this thing going in the right direction. I think last night was the most I have hurt over a UK baseball game too. (The U of L loss was tough this season though.) I think they bouce back pretty well tonight. They beat Bama and get Ole Miss tomorrow and they will be in good shape and will be itching to get a little revenge on the Rebs...hopefully.

* Side note-My optimism when it comes to UK is always so overwhelming. I just assume they will win every game the rest of the season after a loss...in every sport. It's a sickness that I hope never gets remedied. :)

Vandy leads SC 4-1 in the top of the seventh. LSU awaits winner tomorrow. Winner would have to beat the Tigers twice tomorrow to make the Champ game. I see LSU versus winner of Ole Miss and UK on Sunday. We would have to beat the Rebs twice tomorrow if we win tonight, and I say that doesn't seem too tough seeing how we did it just a week ago in taking two of three at home. Although, listening last night, it sounded like a LOT of Ole Miss fans made the trip to Hoover. I was a little surprised seeing as how I didn't hear as many Bama fans the night before.
