...Has anyone heard a nasty rumor regarding players, player's girlfriends, infidelity and some infighting amongst the team? I know there is a good bit of speculation in this post, but I've heard the rumor from a few sources (the most recent being Kentucky sports radio) and wanted to see if anyone can corroborate? Mods, feel free to delete this post if inappropriate, I just thought we might want to discuss now that the season is over.

Donnie, this post may not be able to stay. I think the radio station is just repeating stuff its' heard or read on the internet. We all need to understand that relationship problems occur on every team, to some extent. Think to your work place and tell me that all of you get along 100% of the time, and if you have been around an office in which there was office talk about more personal type relationships. It just happens and it is impossible for each and every year to be one big happy family. Some teams can put those difference aside off the court and play well on the court, and others can't.

Heard it.
I'd say there is some truth to it but it's extremely difficult extrapolating the truth from the wild, rampidrumors. Probably not worth open board speculation here.
Besides, no matter whothe sources are, it doesn't do any player any good whatsoever for us to discuss this. Because the fact is, none of us saw these events happen with our own eyes, period.
I don't understand the mentions of deleting this post---nothing has yet been said on it, what's to delete?

Take this for what you want. However, I do know a girl who knows one of the players (who is a central person in this rumor) very well. She sayshis girlfriendwas unfaithful with another player and that there is going to be a baby involved. This is just what I was told. Who knows?

Same thing I've heard from a few folks. We'll see how it plays out.

Wow, I'm so far out of the loop it isn't funny. I didn't know anything like this was even being said much less actually have thought about it to try and figure out if there was any validity to it...

OK, fine...the secret's out. I was dating Ravi then one night, Rondo and I just locked eyes across a crowded room and the rest is history. My baby's due in June and I'm naming him Rajon Ramel Ravi Randolph Tubby.

I've heard it for quite some time. Don't have any idea if it is true or not. Have a lot of respect for this board for staying away from this kind of stuff.

Shewwwwww, i remember when the only flirting we had to worry about was whether Rick would procreate with the NBA or not and usually he didn't. If something did go on and there were in fighting amongest the team, then it will come out, you won't be able to hide it... If there were alot of infighting = team turmoil 2, then it falls squarely on tubby. Eh, maybe it will just go away like it did with Chuck.

So if one player's girlfriend cheats with another player, it is Tubby's fault? Come to think of it, why couldn't Tubby keep Monica Lewinsky away from Bill Clinton? I bet you're still ticked at Tubby about that whole impeachment ordeal.

LOL...that is pretty funny...and also points out just how easy it is for someone to make up something and put it out there if they wanted to. First off, even if there were to turn out to be truth to such rumors...why in the world would we feel that it was our business in any way???
Just as someone pointed out earlier...these kids are in a situation much like a work place, and if you happen to work somewhere with no rumors, I'll be the first to either congratulate you or ask you if you ever leave your office long enough to notice that you have coworkers and to get a clue. Where you get 3 people together you'll generally have a rumor evantually. I've heard the rumor in question and just like Gillia I've heard it with multiple different players involved in some way or another, which certainly would make me question if there is any validity to it whatsoever...and I'm guessing that true or false the individuals involved would prefer that we all mind our own business where this is concerned.

I said if there was infighting amongest the team, then it falls sqaurely on his shoulders for not doing something about it sooner, if it was affecting the team's peformance, instead of spinning it at the end of yesterdays game.. thats all. stop trying to put words in my mouth ..... just take a deep breath and rest now that the season is over with.
in this day and age it wouldn't be uncommon for multiple different players to be involved in this... who knows what is the truth....Just saying if there are/were internal problems, then they should have been addressed.

Well everybody, the whole story is BOGUS.
The girl friend who supposedly was inolved posted on another web site and completely debunked the whole story. And that was about two or three weeks ago!
IT IS AN INTERNET MYTH AND A COMPLETE LIE!
And beforeAnyone says she was a plant or a phoney, there were a few other posts by her that left no doubt who she was.
END OF STORY!

Even Greg Gumbel commented on the "soap opera" that is Kentucky basketball before we played UAB. He said that even though the soap opera that is Kentucky basketball that somehow Tubby gets them ready for the tournament. Tubby said that it was definitely going to be different next year. Maybe we will have a basketball season without a "soap opera" for a change.:thumbup:wildcatface

What I've heard....is somebody got somebody's GF pregnant. My "realiable" source said to notice how certain players weren't on the floor at the same time. Then another "realiable" source pretty much told the same story only a different player was the daddy. The straw that broke the camel's back and sent me in to a laughing spell was a couple of guys sitting behind me in Nashville (have no idea who they were other than UK fans) told the story using yet a different player. The only parts that have stayed the consistent are the player and his ex girlfriend. I've been told 3 different players are the daddy of the ex GF. If and I say IF, there is any truth to this, the season is over. Let these young men go on with their lives. And good luck to the soon to be daddy with the little wildcat in the oven. :cool:

It's pretty convenient of you to forget the whole saga regarding Anthony Epps and the estranged but still married wife of UK football player Reggie Smith back in 1996. Epps got 6 stitches for this little social activity.

Like I said it was two-three weeks ago. Heavy traffic on the basketball forum on that board. Doubt if I could find it again. It was buried in some inocuous thread with a title that had nothing to do with the subject at hand. Also someone On TCP/Rivals just posted at 11:22 am that " 2 of my roommates here at good ol Lindsey Wilson are UL fans from Louisville and decided they were gonna start a rumor that ---------got -----------' girlfriend pregnant and see how quick it spread. Within 2 days I had people asking me if I had heard about it." Just another indication the whole story is Bogus. That comment is also buried in a thread that is another topic and and has a completely unrealted title. It is on the premium Board - HOB, so I don't think I should or could link it.

It's funny in a sad sort of way. These Cats have hundreds of lovely young ladies throwing themselves at their feet all the time. Why in the world would a Chuck Hayes ever need to rape a married woman, or for that matter even have a consensual affair with a married woman? Or, with all the females to choose from, why would one player have to "take" another's girlfriend. Seems to me there must be a deeper issue that brought the whole thing on rather than this being the origin of the problem.
Man, when you've had to play as a walk-on anyhow, you sure don't need to be walked on any more.
I just really don't know whether -------is worth his trouble or not. I don't like that Cat.

Same here. Also, one thing that I've noticed is that the more that some folks don't like Tubby; the more they bring up these rumors. I have just stopped listening to any of them.
