OXFORD — Ole Miss athletic director Pete Boone will interview three head coaches — South Alabama's John Pelphrey, Cincinnati's Andy Kennedy and Murray State's Mick Cronin — and Rebels assistant Tracy Dildy for the men's basketball coaching vacancy.

Boone said Monday he has received permission from the three outside candidates' athletic directors to speak to them and has contacted each.

Interviews were scheduled to begin Monday with Pelphrey, but inclement weather throughout the state grounded Ole Miss' travel plans. Ole Miss has readjusted its schedule and plans to meet with its candidates, beginning with Pelphrey, on Wednesday.

I hope Pelphrey doesn't end up at Ole Miss. I wouldn't want to face him in a couple of years.

I hope they get the BEST available coach out there. The SEC needs to be strengthen if we want to get more national exposure and respect for both our program and the league. (ie compete with ACC and Big East)

Ole Miss is a basketball coaches graveyard, I hope John holds out for a better opportunity. Plus Pete Boone is the biggest horses *** in college sports.

He (nor any other coach) will get the kind of support at Ole Miss that it takes to win with any consistency in the SEC. Sorta like bringing in a Hal Mumme for UK football.

I hope that John gets what he wants, and if that is to go To Ole MIss, then I want them to offer him the job!

I'd like to see Mick Cronin get into a bigger conference. I think Pelphrey should hold out for better though.
