What happened? Where are the hundreds of thousands of fans that you are supposed to have? Why didn't you guys support this thing?
I can't blame people though. Who wants to go look at Kyle Macy's socks or Ritchie Farmer's old retainer?
I told you no one cares about your history. Not even your own fans...lol!

Pretty simple reason actually. You put it in a mall were nothing is happening unless it is game day. Put that in Fayette Mall it makes money.
Really I have no idea why this is smack worthy? Does UL even have a museum? I know the answer to that and it is NO. Because you don't have anything to put into it. What would you have Pitino's hair grease or the keys from Samaki Walker's Explorer. Maybe you could get a hold of one of Denny's programs he liked to roll up. Wait there might not be enough of those left after Willie Williams used them for rolling papers.

I went several times. It was fun to watch the video's, and check out all the tradition (something Ul coundn't put together.)
The main thing that happened to the museum? Location, Location, Location. Being next to Rupp on gamedays was great. But there was nothing that would bring people to the center.

They are relocating it to campus which makes more sense. It will be free as well on campus I think so everyone can enjoy it as many times as they want.

The reason you bird brains don't have a musuem is because you have NO history or tradition. There wouldn't be anything to put in it. You've never dominated a conference and your NC are over 22+ years old.
I 've been to the museum several times and it still gives me goosebumps to hear Cawood call the Duke game in 92 or to watch Rupps Runts!! It will be great to have on campus to use as a recruiting tool!

I believe I saw an empty outhouse downtown somewhere............you birds could put your 2 national championship tropheys in it ..paint it red and black and we can call it a Cardinal Museum:eek::icon_mrgreen:

So the UK museum didn't have any info on the 40 and 50 year old Championships in it?
Was there cave carvings of you first four titles?

I think the Craft Center is an appropriate place for the museum. I agree that it would be a plus for recruiting, and I think it's important to experience the tradition of University of Kentucky basketball in order to fully realize what an honor it is to wear that jersey.
As an outsider looking in, I think two of the things people associate with the state of Kentucky are its contributions to horseracing and a love for the sport of basketball, which I think is overwhelmingly represented by the history and tradition of the program at the University of Kentucky. I believe an exhibit reflecting that part of Kentucky "folklife" could also have its place in a larger state history museum. I believe it would be no contest that objects and media related to Wildcat history would be the biggest draw of all programs in the state.

Like the display in the Yum center displaying all of the UK players in the NBA?

sooner or later, Pitino's lack of putting players in the NBA while at UL will catch up to him!
If we USED to be good, what does that say about your mid-major program?

If UL had a museum it could remind recruits of the fact that they have been oh so close a few times but never really won much. Really how do you talk smack about something you don't even have? I forgot UL does have a museum it is called the Jefferson County Jail House. You should do tours of that place so all the new recruits can see their future homes even before they commit.

I'm surprised Louisville doesn't have it's own museum so we can walk through and see some of the illustrious history associated with the program.
Oh I forgot, they do. It's called the Jefferson County Jail.
*I realize that someone already used this joke, but I'm using it here because I like it. :p

Non-smack: the New York Times ran a story on Willie Williams and what he is doing now. It is actually kind of an interesting read.

The museum will be moving to the Craft Center on campus, I know...I've seen the artwork for it, the company I work for is bidding on the project.
From looking at the artwork and where it is going, I tend to think it will be set up more as a recruiting tool than a money making venture, either way it's going to be sweet once it's done. Especially if we get to work on it.
