Terrence Boyd update (http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/labels/Terrence%20Boyd.html)
The University of Kentucky basketball staff has been keeping up on Class of 2009 Terrence Boyd, who is now playing his high school ball in San Diego, for a while now.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Boyd played his AAU ball with top UK target Daniel Orton and had a break-out week at the LeBron James U.S. Skills Academy in early July in Akron, Ohio. He also attended UK's Elite Camp this past summer.
Boyd's recruiting had been considered wide open.
But last week, Boyd told the website - KentuckyInk.com - that he might be ready to make a commitment to the Wildcats saying, "the next time I get down there, I'll commit."
However, that was then and now the Northstar Basketball Blog (http://blog.northstarbball.com/2008/10/06/class-of-2009-school-lists.aspx?ref=rss) has a story up that is not quite as positive for UK's chances at landing Boyd. In an update of several '09 prospects, Boyd told the website that he has concerns about the UK situation.
He told the site that his coaches have been telling him "they have been reading (Kentucky) fans talking mess. If I find that out I guess it will be adios for them."
Boyd also told the site that his high school coach - Kenny Roy - told him he only has an offer from UK if Orton signs with the Wildcats.
"If that's so, then adios it definitely will be." Read the entire blog update here: LINK
(http://blog.northstarbball.com/)Boyd played as a sophomore at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson (Va.) but transferred back to his home - Norman, Okla. - last year and was ruled ineligible at Norman High.
He'll play this season at San Diego High School with one of the nation's top junior prospects - Jeremy Tyler.

I do not like reading that. :icon_frown: Thankfully, I have not read negatives in regard to Terrence Boyd here at WCN. Of course, then Boyd makes a similar comment in regard to the possibility that his offer is good only if Orton becomes a Cat. :shrug1:

Beavers lead for Top Fifty prospect

The Oregon State basketball program may only receive two signed LOIs this early signing period, but don't make the mistake that the Beavers aren't in on some other possibilities for the spring. Head coach Craig Robinson and his staff have beaten the bushes hard this fall evaluation period and as a result, they're in good shape with one Top Fifty prospect who has decided to ink late. "He told the site that his coaches have been telling him "they have been reading (Kentucky) fans talking mess. If I find that out I guess it will be adios for them."
Specifically, Kentucky fans have been saying that he has zero chance of qualifying, that UK has not offered him, and that UK doesn't have a scholarship to offer him.
"Boyd also told the site that his high school coach - Kenny Roy - told him he only has an offer from UK if Orton signs with the Wildcats."
If Boyd only knows about a scholarship offer from UK from what his high school coach is telling him, it confirms what Kentucky fans have been saying.
