A new Japanese bistro just opened in Fern Creek this week. It's on Bardstown road at the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Got one word about this place:
UNBELIEVABLE!
I admit I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to food (I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Doritos), but this place was flat-out awesome. The ambiance (we ended up sitting on a Habachi table with the woman who'd done the artwork), the music, the food--wow, the food. Every single course was fabulous.
I hate to give a glowing recommendation and have someone go to the place and hate it, but I don't think you will.
Highly, highly recommended.

Since I'm in your end of town, plan on going in the next couple of weeks. Love trying new restaurants. Thanks for the heads up.

Hope you enjoy it, Cathy.
It looks like nothing from the outside, but when you actually get in there it's a pretty stunning place. (The bathrooms are unbelievable.)
Oh, and you probably already know this, but it's right there in the brand new shopping center right beside the Wal-Mart. The place is green-roofed, and it sits directly behind the Applebee's. Corner of Gene Snyder and Bardstown Rd.

Will, I saw the signs for this and was wondering when it was opening. Thanks for the info. Maybe I can talk Kenny into taking me soon. :icon_biggrin:

If Kenny's anything like me, he'll scoff and say, "Japanese bistro? Let's order pizza." :icon_mrgreen:
But once he gets a taste of the food, I think he'll change his mind.

I will just tell him we are going to Kroger and then make a quick turn into the restaurant. :icon_biggrin:

We loved it. A bit pricy. By that I mean its not like going to Double Dragon. More like PF Changs. Our lunch, ordering off the lunch menu and green hot tea instead of adult beverages, was $27. We want to go back again for dinner and sit at a hibachi table. That would be fun for 2 or 3 couples to do.
