Jenkins walk on?
I hear he goes to Manual High, that's where i went and if he did his parents can help him through school, at least with help from loans. Sounds like the definition of, "preffered walkon"

He's probably played himself up to mid-major status. If you can get a scholarship to a good mid-major, then it'd be tough to walk on at UK.
(Unless you're like a lot of us and would give your right big toe to put that uniform on.)

Yeah, With all the love I have for UK, when I was playing If I had the oppurtunity to get a full Scholly or walk on at Uk. It would be hard but I would have to take the free education and free shoes:icon_lol:

That would be Jacob Jenkins- a 6'4" Point Guard from (correct me if I'm wrong, guys) Dupont Manual High School in Louisville.

Agreed, you can always get your degree and cheer for UK after college. Heck, you could play somewhere for 4 years and come back to grad school at UK. You have to take the free ride.

Do you know of anywhere I could find some information on this kid? I always love to see Kentucky boys on the team, whether they are schollie players or not.

I would imagine that he would walk on at UL if anywhere. He's visited at least once that I know of.

Walk on for the evil horde from the west? For shame... For Jenkins, that is!

The kid can play but there is no way he is a point guard. He is a scorer.
He is built well at 6'4" and can shoot the ball well. Seems to be reasonably athletic although there may be some question as to whether he will be able to get his shot off against quicker/longer defenders.
I've seen him play a dozen times and he continues to improve and impress. That said, he has been to U of L a couple of times. I doubt he'll be a scholarship player there but he could be a valuable walk-on.
I do believe he has played his way to a D-1 scholarship (lower level).
