I'm glad you never did cause I always have doubts. I think I enjoy these moments more that way. That's just me.

Great news! He really did look at home on the sidelines of the Spring Game with WW. It's one more thing WW has done for our FB program.

He can just play - run & hit. Likely a LBer but not so tall, so possibly a SS in the long run.

This kid has a motor that will not stop. He's got a great frame and could easily end up around 6'0 220-230 lbs and runs a 4.5 - would make a fine Strong Safety or OLB. I read on a primo board that his teamate Tristan Johnson (another 3-star DE out of LaGrange) was asked tonight if this might effect his decision and he said he would be looking real hard at this.

This staff will eventually have our minimum kids 3-star kids and that's how you substain over time - you have to keep recruiting like this.

Welcome Qua to the Big Blue Family!

I expect Tristan to follow suite fairly soon.

I wouldn't worry so much about Qua's height. He has been compared favorably to another Granger who turned out to be a decent player at only 5'8".

Sam Olajubutu

Early years

As a senior in high school, he garnered all-state honors and was named Georgia’s 3A Defensive Player of the Year and West Georgia Player of the Year. In addition, he was named the 4A region player of the year as well as the LaGrange Daily News’ Player of the Year. He was selected to the All-Columbus Ledger Inquirer squad. He earned 170 tackles in his senior season in leading his team to the state championship. Rivals.com (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivals.com) ranked him as the No. 54 prep outside linebacker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outside_linebacker) in the nation. He finished third in the state in wrestling in 2001. He was ranked No. 1 in the state in the 215-pound weight class in wrestling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrestling) as a senior. He attended LaGrange High School (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaGrange_High_School).

College career

Olajubutu played at the University of Arkansas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Arkansas), where he started 40 games and became just the 14th player in school history to eclipse 300 tackles. He finished with 372 tackles, seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions and was an All-SEC first-team choice in each of his last two years.

RV called this one quite a while back. I knew it was just a matter of time myself. Great pickup for the Cats. The young man never stops and hits like a truck.

Welcome Qua!!

If we could only learn to listen to the insight of RV, and the "whatever it is," ;) from Wildcat Rick, we sure wouldn't worry so much. This is another great day in Wildcat Football!!!:thumbup:

LaGrange linebacker Qua Huzzie says having three former LaGrange players at Kentucky, including cousin DeMoreo Ford, made his commitment to the Wildcats this week an easy fit.

”That was a big factor,” said Huzzie, who is 5-foot-11, 210 pounds. “When I go up there, I talk to them, and they tell me the truth. It’s going to be fun playing with them.”

Ford is a senior wide receiver. Kentucky’s other former LaGrange players are Braxton Kelley, a senior linebacker, and Randall Burden, a freshman defensive back.

LaGrange has become Georgia’s “Linebacker” High School. Former All-SEC linebackers Wesley Woodyard (Kentucky) and Sam Olajubutu (Arkansas), both in the NFL, played at LaGrange. Tray Blackmon, a junior starting linebacker at Auburn, was the AJC’s all-class player of the year in 2004.

Thanks for the links, ImForKy and WildcatRick. Also, WELCOME, Mr. Huzzie. :icon_biggrin:

By the way, thanks, also, to Joker for starting the LaGrange pipeline and also to Wesley Woodyard, especially, along with current Cats DeMoreo Ford, Braxton Kelley, and Randall Burden (who can really dance, by the way, as witnessed at last year's women's clinic :icon_biggrin:), for development of that pipeline. I LOVE it!

Rick, I think DeMoreo is now considered a JR. No?

Sure is. I noticed that but my extremely short attention span caused me to forget to edit it. Good catch!! Seems a lot of people still think of Moreo as a Sr.

Former UK and Atlanta Falcon wide receiver Quentin McCord was a Granger. And, isn't Quentin DeMoreo's uncle?

Welcome to Qua Huzzie.

Welcome to Qua Huzzie.

Yes, Quinton is indeed DeMoreo's uncle, UedK. By the way, I had so pulled for Quentin, both as a Cat AND as a Falcon. :)

WELCOME, again, Mr. Huzzie. :)
