Was listening to an interview with Bobby Johnson a few moments ago. After it was over, one of the hosts made the comment how hard it would be for these programs to compete.

I seem to remember CM saying that the requirements for eligibility at Duke were no stricter than those at UK.

Is that correct? If so, is that correct for football as well as basketball?

Thanks!

It's kinda tough to get into UK right now. The average ACT is over 27 - for example.

Where did that information come from?

Even if standards for getting into Duke as an athlete are the same as getting into UK, staying there is probably tougher.

Seems each major conference has a member along these lines . . .

SEC: Vanderbilt
ACC: Duke
Big 10: Northwestern
Big XII: Baylor
Pac 10: Stanford

Where did that information come from?I can't find confirmation of it. I found confirmation that the incoming class last year was almost 25. Attrition would be more likely to raise it than lower it. Recently announced budget cuts will lower college attendance which should raise the bar for this year also.

I dunno about Duke being so hard.

Apparently, the sociology degree is manageable in three years ...

I would guess that the equivalent in the Big East would be Rutgers.
