I guess a lot of us are still stunned about the news on Curtis Pulley. Well..
we shouldn't be amazed that kids do ridiculous things. Unfortunately, some things don't get fixed and the consequences are pretty bad.
Whatever Coach and Staff decide, they'll know more of the situation than
we do. I won't be surprised at any decision....from no decision at all to off the team or anything in between.
However.....
We're OK at QB, even without Curtis. I had actually been concerned that although Pulley was the best athlete, the system in place was more designed for a player like Hartline. The kid was pretty highly recruited...he comes from a great football family (I remember his brother plays for Ohio
State...commentators on television were remarking that the family dinners would have some interesting comments about how UK and OSU fared against the Bayou Bengals). The young man has ability. He was apparently in some coache's minds ahead of Curtis in the QB derby as it was.
We're going to be no worse off. CP would have a mountain to climb to come back unless there is something that I don't know of.....and of course, the sum of what I don't know would fell a team of oxen...
Hartline already has reps under his belt from last year as the backup.
I think as far as the team goes, the prognosis would be pretty much the
same with either of these young men. Perhaps better if Curtis is used
as a receiver or H-back to use his athleticism more.
Just hope the young man can stay with the team.
