According to WKYT-TV tonight, Will Fidler was arrested early Friday morning outside a Lexington restaurant for disturbing the peace. Coach Brooks is gonna be fit to be tied.

We might want to consider putting Hartline in a room with a 24-hour guard. Then he needs to be dressed in red from head to toe, during practice - NO CONTACT.

So who's the backup if Fidler and Pulley are out?

I don't like how things are heading.

Well, I guess congratulations are in order for Mr. Hartline.:shrug1:

If Pulley is gone then your looking at True Freshman Roark and Mason. Hell maybe even Cobb.

Only other options are walkon Sargent or Lentz moves back.

Gee...
y'know.....I had clean lost the memory of Cobb and Roark being QBs....
as insane as that sounds...just lost it.

Sounds like we'll have some talent that can slide over to the QB position
after all...weren't Cobb, Mason and Roark all POY in their classes??????

Thank goodness for recruiting.

Did I say that out loud??????

It may very well be Cobb. Hopefully it will be a non-issue, but we can't count on our QB playing the entire season injury free. Can we?

The Cats have made too much progress to allow a couple of boneheads to mess it up.
BROOKS NEEDS TO LOWER THE BOOM!

you really think they're going to kick the guy off the team for disorderly conduct ?

Brooks needs to get a handle on things and quick. The negative pub is not what this program needs now.

We may need Cobb to play QB is this keeps up.

And to think we bash UL for this kind of behavior.

you really think they're going to kick the guy off the team for disorderly contact ?No. But he needs to hand out some stiff punishment to Fidler and they really have no use for Pulley at this point. These things can spread through a team like poison ivy.

Exactly. The Cats need to handle this stuff with stiff, immediate punishments.

Randall Cobb.... Alcoa High... 4 straight Tennessee (2A) State Champion Titles... Only losses were to Maryville, who is also in Blount County with Alcoa. Maryville: 4 straight Tennessee (4A) State Champion Titles. Randall was also approached by UT VOLS and offered a "chance" to QB for them... I hope his dad, Randall Sr. comes over to watch some of the games with me this year. He (((WAS))) a huge UT fan, now converted to a UK fan!!!! Hopefully, we will see his boy QB this year and watch Randall jr. destroy Tennessee. He's a dangerous QB with GREAT SPEED and a GREAT ARM!!!! He's one of our hidden weapons.

Let's wait and see what happened. This is a fight, not a felony. Maybe there's some fire in this guy.

By the way, this is the reason we don't talk about other teams' players. Our guys can goof-up too.

Thank you... Lets wait and see what happened here. I see alot steps in Mr.Fidlers future as is the Commonwealth stadium steps.

Just my VERY uninformed opinion is this.......Fidler will have some undisclosed punishment. Then, he will resume his normal team activities. The kicker here is, how will this incident effect how Brooks and Joker view him and his future. I happen to think Fidler will be okay. Now, as for Pulley, this is harder to predict. I can see him missing playing time and being backup QB and wide receiver, after missing part of the season. There is no doubt, Hartline is now firmly entrenched as the starting QB........ and I can see him gone. So, basically, Fidler will be okay.....doubts about Pulley.
I wish both the best....

In my opinion this is a wait-and-see kind of thing. I don't believe in fighting if you can get by without doing it. Sometimes athletes are provoked when they are out in public places especially where alcohol could be flowing too. Just a distraction the team doesn't need and I am sure an embarrassment for this guy.

I sure wouldn't kick Pulley off the team. No use for Pulley? It wasn't a DUI or a felony. I say he stays.

Actually, the timing of this incident with Fidler is a shame for the Kentucky football program (as Coach Brooks had only learned about Pulley's two arrests late Friday). I'm listening to Larry Vaught right now. From Vaught's understanding of the incident, by the way, the altercation actually involved a friend of Fidler's, and Fidler stepped in to defend his friend when the situation had escalated. In my opinion, the Fidler incident is not even remotely comparable to Pulley's situation.

The other shame, which they are discussing, is the negative press the program will now receive (and, again, the timing of this second incident is most unfortunate for the program). Only hours before Coach Brooks received a call notifying Coach of Pulley's arrests, Vaught was sharing how both Coach Brooks and Jeremy Jarmon had been talking at SEC Media Days about the team's CHARACTER, how NO ONE has gotten into trouble, about how IMPORTANT character is to Coach Brooks. Coach Brooks has raved about HOW PROUD he is of his team.

Again, to me, this SECOND incident is mostly troubling to me because it perpetuates an image that is seemingly not indicative of the level of the character of this team. I feel for the UK coaches in that regard, as character is even quite important in their recruiting. I especially feel for Coach Brooks, who is surely STILL STEAMING from Pulley's premeditated decisions, one of which was keeping his marijuana charge hidden from the coaches.

It has not been a good "day" for UK football. :icon_sad: I trust these situations will be handled fairly and properly (and Pulley's toughly, by the way) by the coaching staff. Too, let's just all hope and pray things go back to NO players' getting into trouble (since Marcus McClinton was making homemade fireworks about a year and a half ago, a player who stil went to SEC Media Days last summer, evidencing his real character and the respect Coach had for him). May we have no more bad headlines like these the past two days.

Coach Brooks owes it to the young man to give him a large dose of tough love. Whatever that may be. Like other posters have said, Coach is a fair man. I'll leave it to him.

Leger had the same thing happen last year and CB suspended him for the Music City Bowl. I imagine that's what will happen in this case. Plus Mr Fidler will be in much better shape after he runs a bunch of suicides.

you really think they're going to kick the guy off the team for disorderly conduct ?

It shows that he may not have the correct psychology to lead a team to victory...to palookaville, yes -- to victory, no.

I hope so but doubt it. It is a shame that these 2 guys could not behave themselves but I think we have to move on and plan as if they won't be a part of the team. Give Cobb or whoever steps up to #2 as many reps as possible, then if we get one or both guys back it is a bonus, not a must have. There have been plenty of freshman who have stepped in and lead teams in the past. My real hope is that Hartline stays injury free and can play/lead as well as has been reported over the summer.

Just my take:

Fidler: A misdemeanor, at best. . . Sounds like extenuating circumstances -- I say one game suspension & some, ahem, extra duties.

Pulley: Still no major violations. . . 3-5 games & A WHOLE LOT OF EXTRA DUTIES.

What do y'all think?

I don't know with Curtis but at least a 3 game suspension if not dismissal. As for Fidler's situation if what Vaught says is true, I am with lighthouse. Run run run and then run some more. No missing games. But there again I don't know the specifics nor the young men so it is what it is..idle speculation. What I do know though is the team leaders better get their brethrens attention and get it quick before any further embarressment to the program occurs.

Just heard Chip Cosby on WVLK-AM who said he had heard that Will was outside the establishment when an altercation broke out. Will stepped into the middle of it to play peacemaker and just got caught up in it. FWIW.

If he really was breaking it up and got caught in the middle then I say run the hell out of the guy and depending on what happens with Pulley, maybe suspend him for the 1st game. That way it tells the rest of the team watch who you are hanging out with and the situations you put yourself in. If he WAS fighting then suspend him for however long Coach Brooks feels is right. I was just talking to all my friends that are UT, UF, Bama, and UGA fans about how UK keeps their noses clean, then this. I got like 10 text this morning laughing at me. Oh well, at least this isn't as bad as what UGA and Bama has gone thru. Lets just hope it doesn't get to that:5x

wildcat4ever, I'm not picking on you...I promise. JMHO, Fidler should be dealt with for what he did or didn't do. It should have nothing to do with what happens with Pulley. I agree with the rest of what you say. :)
