It seems like it might be tough for UK to sign 5 star recruit Derrick Favors next spring(thats when he said he will announce). Favors is a 5 star according to both Scout and Rivals, and the number one overall PF according to Rivals, and number 3 according to Scout. Favors seems very interested in staying in the state of Georgia, and play for a major program. UK is still very much a contender on his list, but seems to me like UGA and GT are his leaders.

G-tech would be loaded if Favors chooses the Yellowjackets

If there is something Paul Hewitt has shown us the last 10 years is that he is a great recruiter who coaches average, at best, teams.

Getting Favors for UGA (and getting him to stay on the team and preform) would be a huge lift for Felton. He helped himself with that end of season run they had, but he will still need some help as I still think his seat is warm.

He's been to a Final Four.

He has recruited some excellent players but rarely a complete team. I agree though, I think he is going to have to start getting better results soon or he may be in trouble. I don't think they will be particularly good this year.

Georgia big man Derrick Favors is ranked No. 1 in the post-summer Class of 2009 rankings released by Eric Bossi, who runs eBoss Hoops.
Bossi has the 6-foot-9 Favors No. 1, ahead of Oklahoma wing Xavier Henry, Alabama big man Demarcus Cousins, Texas forward John Henson and New York guard Lance Stephenson.
A bunch of guys with local ties are on the listing of the top 100 prospects.
Indiana commitment Maurice Creek checks in at No. 53 and is the highest of any local commitment on the list.
Louisville commitment Peyton Siva of Seattle is ranked No. 60, while Miami forward Rakeem Buckles is tabbed at No. 76.
Kentucky commitment Jon Hood is the only in-state player on the list and ranks No. 64.
UK's top target - Daniel Orton - checks in at No. 13, while another player UK has been linked with is Kyryl Natyazho of Bradenton, Fla., who is No. 46 and Pennsylvania center Aaric Murray at No. 54.
Indiana and Kentucky target Christian Watford is ranked No. 57, while Indiana target Roger Franklin is No. 63 and Chris Braswell is No. 71.

Hewitt has put kids in the NBA, however, mostly as high draft picks. Chris Bosch, Jarett Jack, Javaris Crittendon, Thaddeus Young come to mind quickly. Lowest pick there was probably around #20. They play in the ACC, they get tons of TV exposure, and he gets kids drafted. That can be a very attractive combination for some kids.

Georgia Tech 2009 commits
PF Kammeon Holsey 6'7" (3 stars)
SF Brian Oliver 6'6" (3 stars)
SG Glen Rice 6'4" (4 stars)
PG Mfon Udofia 6'2" (4 stars)
If he adds PF Derrick Favors 6'9" (5 star), they would surely give UNC and Duke a scare.
