View Full Version : Beer Margaritas
I was skeptical at first, but this is a great drink!!!
In a 2 quart pitcher, mix:
4 standard american beers
1 frozen limeade (melted enough to stir)
1 cup tequila
Pour over ice
Due to the beer, blending with ice can get messy. Great margarita for tailgating if you like them on the rocks. May need to double or triple the recipe. :icon_biggrin:

I have had these, and agree. I don't know if it was the same recipe, but was surprised that I didn't hate them.;)
Here's a version with less beer...I think this is the one I've tasted:

The version I have tried used Corona or Dos Equis. I was skeptical at first, but they are good.

i agree they prob would be better with the mexican beers. the first one (well few):big_grin:i tried was with the bud, miller, coors, etc... and they were really good.
i would prob do the mexican beer for a get together with friends and the less $$$ domestic beer for an all out tailgating party. hope to be at commonwealth this year and share some with fellow blue bloods.

In England, without the tequila, they call em shantys as I recall. A way to dilute the beer for when out to lunch during a work day.

Leinenkugel makes a Summer Shandy which is a beer with lemonade flavors. My wife also makes them, mixing beer with lemonade.

How about this:
Sparkling Margarita Float
One 12 oz. can of frozen limeade concentrate
1 ½ cups of tequila (or to taste)
½ cup triple sec
2 quarts tonic, chilled
1 pint of tangerine, lemon or lime sherbet
Chill 8 “cute” glasses. In a pitcher, stir together the limeade, tequila and triple sec. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Stir the tonic into the limeade mixture. Place one scoop of the sherbet into each glass, and stir in the margarita mix.

That recipe seems shy on tequila by about 2/3rds to one cup. :icon_lol:

I made these this weekend and they were very good. My favorite blend was 1 can of limeade, 1 cup of tequila and 2 beers. 1 beer was too tart and 3 beers was too beery (I think I just made a new word) but two beers was just right.
And honestly after three pitchers I really didn't care.
