New Arena Floor...

Eventually Kentucky will opt to upgrade from Rupp Arena to a new basketball court.

It will be several years from now, but I was wondering what you guys thought the new floor would look like?

I've included a floor that you can cut and paste and then change to the way you would like the new floor to look.

Before some of you guys get all mad and say we should never leave Rupp, this is just for fun, okay? There's very little in the way of news, and this is just to pass the time.

I think they should just move the old floor over (they might anyway) and do whatever yearly changes they feel they need to do (just like every season).

And by the way I would LOVE for UK to get a new arena. And I'm a traditionalist. Face it, Rupp is ugly inside and out. It might get loud, but it's too 1970's. In the new arena, just be sure to put in TONS of luxury boxes for the money people and let the students get down low.

I agree with you on all of this...I love goin to Rupp...but things could be sooo much better.

bluecat406, how do u even design a court? is it hard? put up directions

The court is portable and can be replaced (in fact was just a few years ago) without moving out of Rupp. Even if a new arena is built, they may use the existing court there. However, I think coming up with new designs for the court is much easier and much more fun than trying to figure out the possibilities for a whole new arena or significant changes to Rupp that are actually doable.

Places outside the border would be in play too...from the other side of the Ohio River, from Indiana, from WV, maybe even "He showed 'em he could bury it from the Show Me state."
