Roscoe is a very long and thin wing. He is skilled. A solid shooter, he can score inside and out. He has very good size and will be a bear once he fills out his body. Weakness is his biggest short coming right now. He is a good slasher and shooter. He is also a good rebounder. Roscoe is a top 25 prospect in the 2010 class nationally.

The X-factor for USA Two was 2010 five-star prospect Roscoe Smith (http://kentucky.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=68256), whose inspired play produced 22 points on 10-13 shooting and seven assists.

Roscoe Smith (6-7, 180)
Junior, Baltimore, Md./ Walbrook
Smith possesses all the physical tools to be an elite wing-type at the high-major level. He has a willowy frame with long arms and possesses elite athleticism. He is exceptional in the open court, utilizing his length, quickness, and bounce to produce some of the more spectacular finishes. In the half-court set, he has a very quick first step to the basket and he's one of the better slashers I've seen this evaluation period -- he maneuvers his wiry frame well while floating in the air to finish amongst the bigs. His jump shot is solid out to the stripe and he has a very smooth release, but he doesn't get much lift on his shot. To reach his potential, Smith needs to work on developing a midrange game. He is very productive in transition and launching 3s; but in order for him to maximize his potential a midrange pull-up at the elbow and emphasis on tightening up his handle in the half-court set are essential.

Five-star Baltimore (Md.) Walbrook forward Roscoe Smith has a lot of work to do before he can start paring down a huge list of college scholarship offers, but he's also blessed with plenty of time to do it.

Duke basketball has clearly put a full court press on its recruitment of the 2010 class, earning three commitments from some of the top players in the country. The quest to build one of Duke's best classes in the last several seasons continues and among those being targeted is five-star small forward Roscoe Smith of Baltimore (Md.) Walbrook High.

I noticed. My God, he has been offered by any and everybody!!! Even though I've never seen this kid play....evidently everybody who has must think he's a flat out stud!!! I'm wanting either him or Barnes from the 2010 class....and then some!

Roscoe Smith (http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=44159) of Walbrook High School (Baltimore, Md.) is a slender 6-foot-8, 194-pound swingman who has been drawing college interest from a number of ACC and Big East programs.

The junior averaged 23 points, 11.5 rebounds, four blocks, four assists and two steals per game for the Warriors, who reached the Maryland Class 4A semifinals at the Comcast Center in March before losing to eventual undefeated state champion, Springbrook High School (Silver Spring, Md.).

For his play last season, Smith earned First Team All-City and First Team All-Metro from the Baltimore Sun.

Smith holds offers from more than 15 Division I basketball programs, including UConn, Louisville, Florida State, Maryland, UCLA and Memphis.

"I'm wide open on colleges," Smith told ESPNRISE.com. "I'm hearing from everyone and just starting to really think about my options."

Smith is not planning to play AAU basketball this spring and summer, but is planning to attend a number of elite showcase camps this summer, including the Vince Carter, LeBron James, Global and NBA Top 100 Camps.

Smith ranks Duke high

Brian McLawhorn
Devils Illustrated

Baltimore (Md.) five-star forward Roscoe Smith began hearing from Duke last summer and since that time the Blue Devils' interest has increased incrementally. As of late, Smith has seen himself go from a player being evaluated by Duke to a heavily pursued prospect. Now, the 6-foot-8, 200 pound wing is returning the interest by placing the Devils high on his list.

How interested are we?

Not sure how to guage our interest other than UK has offered but so has 14 other schools. Smith is a five star and according the #5 SF in the class of 2010.
