Ya'll pray for me...I'm on my way into the heart of the beast. Gotta spend a week in Durham on business. Hopin' I can keep my mouth shut and stay out of jail while in Dookieville!!

If you run into Christian Laettner get pepper spray and stomp on his chest while you're at it.

Most people in Durham aren't dook fans. In fact, the dook following in NC is surprisingly small. You'll find more dook fans in New Jersey. After all, dook is officially the University of Southern New Jersey at Durham. ;)

we had to relocate from nashville to the raleigh/durham area about 3 months ago. nc cat's comment about the duke following rings true with what i've seen so far. way more unc stuff around than duke stuff.
i will say that everyone around here (apex) will warn you about going into durham because of the crime, not the duke fans. apparently it's not a place to go wandering off. i'm sure it's all relative but durham did rank just below nashville in gun shot wounds in a recent men's health article and at least the area of nashville that we lived in (sylvan park) was starting to get pretty sketchy when we left. that being said, we have been to see the durham bulls and did not have any problems whatsoever.
btw - nc cat (or other fans in the triangle area) - what's the best way to make sure i get to see as many uk football and basketball games as possible in this area?

Actually that's true. Durham is a nice place. My dad grew up there and my grandparents were educated at Duke. I like it there.

Ya, actually I was here for a week last summer, there are alot of good people. And the comments about not that many duke fans seems to be true. And, they don't like Laettner here either. Still, if I see him...we all owe him a good stomp to the chest.....
Now if my luggage would only get here....thanks US Air!!

This is suprisingly true. NC is definitely a tar heels state and you'd be suprised at how many people dislike dook in their home state
