I fear that... we are losing ground with Brandan Wright.
Albeit gaining ground with Thaddeus Young and WIllie Kemp. So goes the recruiting circles this weekend.
We have offered to Perry Stevenson. Good move. Just in case.
Tubby is very very aligned to get Deon no matter what.
I think Brandan is the one who is becoming expendable. I think Tubby is tired of waiting and Brandan is no longer thrilled to see coaches at his school. Hence the love for Vanderbilt

I cannot fathom Brandon Wright to Vanderbilt. Kids who want to be pros QUICK just do not make that move. It doesn't make any sense...unless something fishy is going on on Vandy's end.
Tubby may be tired of waiting, but I just don't see Wright in Nasvhille next year. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but I would be willing to bet a large chunk of money that he won't be a 'Dore.

I'm not doubting your sources. I've seen both you and Drummond have made comments today that suggest Vandy has gained ground. I believe that wholeheartedly.
HOWEVER, it ain't gonna happen.
I'd bet my car. :D

I don't think Tubby has a history of being tired of waiting, does he?
I know for a fact that Ron Mercerwas not as interested in Vanderbilt and their then coach (the totallynon-charismatic Jan van Breda Kopff who was later fired)as somepeopletry to makeout now... and I just can't get worked up about the idea that Vanderbilt is a real recruiting threat to UK, UNC, Duke, even UL. I can't fathom that. Sorry - no offense to Greg or Jeff -but I do doubtthesources because there is no history to back that up.

I feel the exact some way.
Vandy fans could cite Matt Freije. The problem with that is that (I believe this is right) Freije wanted to go to Kansas, and Roy Williams didn't have room for him, so he sent him to his old pal Kevin Stallings.

It is close to home and he likely feels comfortable. We should all know about recruits staying home.
Stevenson can fit the bill, IMO. Up and comer...great defense. Add a wide body with him and atop notchguard in Jasper or Kemp and we still have a real solid class, IMO.

Actually...
Chevy Malibu.
In the shop, presently. Broken springs and torn struts. Undrivable. I'm a man of my word, though! :)

I'm like the posters in that thread: I find it hard to believe a guy with 5 posts. I've seen a thouand times on the big UK boards somebody with just a handful of posts jump in and claim to have "inside information." Almost always turns out to be wrong. That said, I seriously doubt CrowdControl's or Jeff Drummond's source is some Tennessee fan.
Still...not going to happen. As JohnJ says, there's just no precedent for it. If Wright goes to Vandy, that just cements my opinion that college basketball has become obscenely even. Parity is a reality...but this would be absurd.

This isnt a Tennessee fan or Vanderbilt fan.
I wont say who it is, but lets say they know Brandan very well.

I have a very good feeling that Wright becomes a Cat. I'd put money on it, I have read some stuff on Wildcat Insiders's board and I am very pleased.

Wright is a can't miss prospect or a shoe in for us.... when a kid of wright's ability is interested, you wait. Or at least I would. Reminds me of Ron Mercer's situation, he looked to be g oing to vandy, then they screwed up his transcripts and he came here.... would be disheartening if he didn;t become a cat, but i am glad we are in good with other kids, including stevenson.

Contrary to myth, Tennessee was Kentucky's main serious competition for Ron Mercer, not Jan van Breda Kopff-coachedVanderbilt.
