Last year during the spring, and even moreso in the fall, the media and fans all talked that Brooks was on the hot seat---more unsupported by his management and fans than any other coach in college ball. And the season didn't do a lot to eliminate that talk.

And it certainly did nothing good for our re recruiting or play last year!

Now that Brookshas beengiven another year of "grace" I'm wondering if that will do away with the gossipy talk of his demise---at least until we see what the upcoming season holds for his team.

It would be a big help if we could just let it rest for a season and pull for the team.

Then hope that the sports management people at UK will do whatever is right for the program as the season ends.

Good thought T75, but you & I both know it's not going to happen. The keeping quiet & supporting the team part that is.

I wouldn't agree with you that fan or media talk hurt our 2005 season or our recruiting in 2006.

We signed our strongest recruitingclass since before probation days.

Attrition due to injuries and probation would be the greatest reason for a poor 2005 campaign.

I would agree with you that negativity in the media and the internet don't help, but I wouldn't say that the things said here contributed greatly to our problems in the last year.

I agree that it's good to take a positive outlook toward 2006, and hope for the best. I definitely expect improvement in 2006, as the staff has their first team of "their guys" on the field. And 2007, we will definitely see what the Rich Brooks Era holds for UK fans. Patience is needed, and I'm willing to be patient with this staff a bit longerso long as we see sound, fundamental football decisions and coaching.

Rich Brooks desperately needs a signature win to gain fan support. A win at the Pizza Joint on Labor Day weekend would go a long way.

While it's true we did sign one of our better classes, who's to say it couldn't have been better if not for the negative vibes surrounding the staff. That's just something we'll never know.

Winning begets winning. Winning begets positive vibes. The power of the win is so disproportionately greater than the power of a "good" loss it's not even close - subject for a summer discussion, I think ...
