I am typing at JFK's JetBlue terminal and this is the ugliest dirtiest terminal I have ever seen just beats Memphis. Ugggh 10pm in JFK waiting to go to Dulles got to love business travel:eek:

Its not the dirtiest but I hate flying to O'Hare. I personally would have to say Philadelphia. Detroit was high on my list until they rennovated.

There's nothing nice about JFK. Customs are crappy, disjointed terminals, long waits.

Detroit's old NW terminal was pretty bad. Newark ain't great. Most anything smaller is better - except Hayden, CO's aircraft hanger. Pretty funny.

Philly & JFK top my list for the worst. In the "Worst Place To Be Stuck" catagory, I'll go with Grand Rapids. I was stuck there for about 10 hours once, but it seemed like months. Talk about an airport with nuthin' to do & no where to go.....

In JetBue's defense they have a brand new terminal opening soon. Dulles and Denver look the nicest from the outside.

Newark, Philly, Memphis and New Orleans are the worst I've ever been in. Internationally, I'd have to say Cairo was the worst. For the love of god, do NOT go into the bathroom there. Yikes.

I'll see your Cairo and raise you one Mumbai (Bombay).

But in the US, I'll have to agree that JFK is about as bad as it gets. I hate going through customs there. As SRB said, Dulles looks really nice from the outside and it's not a bad terminal except for those excreble "people-movers".

I can only imagine Mumbai. I've heard that some places in what I call 'The Stans' (former Soviet states) are just absolute holes. I tell you though, Cairo was pretty gross. Every toilet either had crap backing up in it, or said crap was on the walls. Oh, and there were flies the size of grapes in there too. In the name of all that is holy, DO NOT go in there. The smell was pretty bad too. Uh, also being confronted by a customs agent supported by a Kalashnikov toting police officer was a new one for me. The rest of the terminal was just dirty. I went OCD while I was in that place, using purell every time I touched something other than my bags or my clothes. I saw a few bugs roaming around on the floors that could probably kill you too. I didn't want to find out. No telling what it's like now, but 10 years ago it was HORRIBLE.

Denver location = west Kansas

Nicest:
- Vancouver, BC
- Seattle
- Colorado Springs
- Orlando
- Greenville, SC
- Providence, RI
- Manchester, NH
- Savannah
- Denver
- I hear Dulles is nice, but only ever made a quick change there once. PHX was nice but has gotten run down. John Wayne ain't bad. Neither are CVG, SDF & LEX

Like I said, smaller is generally better.

The nicest ones I have been in aren't even in this country. The best one in the US from my last experience was LAX. It's still relatively clean. DTW's new midfield terminal is pretty good. Denver is pretty nice, but the taxi time from gate to runway can be a long one.

The nicest I've ever been to, Frankfurt, Narita (Tokyo) and Chep Lap Kok in Hong Kong.

I've heard great things about Narita. My very favorite is Incheon (Seoul)--wonderful facilities, good restaurants-especially if you like Korean food--and unmatched duty free shops. (One had a $25,000 bottle of single malt scotch in a display case, complete with an armed guard. It was for sale, but I'm not sure that the guard came with it...)

Frankfurt was quite nice, but damn if I'll ever again pay five bucks for a cup of coffee....that was one expensive layover.

Paying that in Euros at Frankfurt huh? Cup of joe (20oz) runs about 2.80 in Euros, at least when I was there last month. So, about $4.10. Although it does depend which vendor you buy from. Narita is a very nice place, also very clean. The terminal is very organized. CLK in Hong Kong is the best I have ever set foot in. There is a reason it has received numerous awards including what is considered the top award, Skytrax's best airport of the year, not once, but 6 times (2001-2005 an 2007-2008). Pristine, clean and great asthetics. It feels like a miniature city instead of an airport.

20oz?? LOL. That's more like 3 cups of joe. But still expensive, yes.

For me that's just a cup. My mug at home is also 20oz. Although, that's all the coffee I drink for the day.
