What about the jet? Good Lord, that was cool...especially the video. I'd like to see it in person.

I've been there several times. The bar next to the beach is topless too, uh, yunno incase anyone wants a drink or something. Seriously though, aircraft land that low because the runway is only 7200ft, just 200ft longer than the one at Bluegrass. It takes alot to stop a 'heavy' in 7000ft. If you want to see another vid, check this out. There are more vids of Juliana on that site.

Also, what it looks like from inside a plane.

Check this landing at Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Airstrip is essentially in a "bowl". The pilots have to basically "chase" the terrain down to the runway.

Yep, the approach into Toncontin (MHTG/TGU) falls under a dangerous approach similar to what Kai Tak was and Funchal is today. Speaking of which, here are 3 more videos.
Toncontin (http://www.flightlevel350.com/Aircraft_Boeing_757-200-Airline_American_Airlines_Aviation_Video-8203.html) from the flightdeck.
Funchal (http://www.flightlevel350.com/Aircraft_Various_Aircraft-Airline_Various_Airlines_Aviation_Video-8736.html) - watch 2/3rds of the way through for the 737
Funchal (http://www.flightlevel350.com/Aircraft_Airbus_A320-Airline_SATA_International_Aviation_Video-5516.html) from the flightdeck.
