...those two girls.
It was a joke made to a lady and her nieces...and the lady didnt think it was funny. It was so unfunny to her, she had him arrested. Some of you all from Harlan might have heard this...

The most surprising thing about the article is that Loyal Jones is still alive. He was one of my older professors when I had him during my sophmore year at Berea, in 1985. Although he was a great instructor. He kept me laughing during his classes. He even had the book in one class that was written by his wife.

Luckily for the both of them, am apology is all that was needed. When I first heard this story, the words frivolous and lawsuit immediately came to mind. I can see where the mother thought it was wrong as well as I can see his thought that it was just a joke. We as a country are moving too fast. I pine for the olden days (though i'm only 37), as I believe we'd be in much better shape than we are today.

I'm 25 and I do! Heck when I was 18 I worked at my old Elementary School, and they weren't allowed to sit "indian style" anymore!
My sister is a middle school teacher in Atlanta. She isn't allowed to grade papers with red ink, and they aren't allowed to play games with winners and losers.
AND the BEST PART
if someone turns in an assignment with no name on it, instead of getting a ZERO on it, she has to hang it on the blackboard for TWO WEEKS for someone to claim it before she can record a zero.
